Actually, I Am Freezing My Ass Off

This woman is obviously not a skier.

The planet is getting warmer. I can feel it, you can feel it, and the winter tourism industry can definitely feel it. At 55.3 degrees Fahrenheit, last year marked the hottest year on record in the United States, edging out the previous record by one degree. Climate change is causing shorter winters and less snow, putting intense pressure on ski resorts and small businesses in the winter tourism industry that rely on snow to stay in business and employ thousands of Americans. Consider: This is a problem that’ll take more than zinc oxide to fix.

Climate Change is Remaking Winter | ThinkProgress

As usual, Think Progress is just making propaganda up as they go along. Winter snow cover is increasing. Last week they were hysterical about too much snow.

The Scottish Highlands is producing record casualties this year, there was another avalanche.

It is very cold where I live and it feels cold, cold wet grey and miserable. And that’s just the summertime.

Visit Perth here in Aussie, Sparks. 35 deg, warm sunny and wonderful beach weather.
You’ll never never know if you never never go. (Pinched the NT slogan there)

      • Sparks says:

I have been asked that so many times between family and friends living in Australia and the US I’ve lost count, I’ll have to visit some day. BTW. My cousin flew back Wednesday to Australia, you are welcome, She’s not only beautiful, but a doctor too and a very-well educated scientist. Look after her.

You are visiting a site that is a misnomer. They do not think there.

Stop confusing the blinkered Warmists with the facts. It strains their limited intellect. They are driven by visceral urges and emotions, not reason or logic. They don’t want to hear the truth, because it contradicts everything they’ve been told by the so-called “experts,” who are themselves a self-deluded, but ambitious, collection of con artists who are more than willing to cut corners and trample science in their quest for more research bucks and a few front-page headlines.

  5. See your problem Steve is that you’re just not in touch with Gaia. You’re not in touch with yourself. She can *feel* the planet warming around her. Or possibly there is too much touching of herself going on.

  6. Justa Joe says:

If 2012 was the “warmest” year EVAH we don’t have anything to worry about because the weather was quite unremarkable. Up until 2 days ago it was down right frigid for the last couple of months.

One of the comments to the story above mentions no Snow in Northern Minnesota having a terrible effect on the people – no sled races and so on.

    According to
    http://www.currentresults.com/Weather/Minnesota/annual-snowfall.php
Average annual snowfall in Northern Minnesota is 40″ in the northeast and about 60″ in the northwest.

    Current snow depth conditions are:
    http://www.weatherstreet.com/weather-forecast/minnesota-snow-cover.htm
Up to 40″ in the northeast and 30″ in the northwest.

My question to Jack Burton or northern Minnesota on thinkprogress.org is:
Exactly how many of your neighbours do you want to freeze to death there in northern Minnesota?

I can’t ask him on that website as it won’t accept my reply. Maybe some of you guys in the US might like to respond to him.
