   Curiously, according to the DMI data set, ice coverage may be breaking records for this time of year at least. (It’s a short data set.)

     Gator, youre right. It was all multi-year ice and very solid. No holes like the rotten stuff that forms in our current CO2 polluted atmosphere.

       Only because all observations prior to 1979 were anecdotes. We know Roald Amundsen, Robert Peary, Admiral Richard Byrd, Captain George Vancouver, John Muir, told the truth about everything except ice retreat.

       They conspired way back then, decades apart, some having never met, to give skeptics anecdotal ammunition in the 21st Century.

       May we never forget that anecdotes are not observations.
