There are about as many guns as there are people in the US. David tells us that odds are better than 50:50 that your gun will shoot someone. If David is correct, then more than half of the people in the US have been shot.
David might also want to learn the difference between “shot” and “shoot”
“One mouse dropping ruins the whole pot of rice.”

Rotten appells are best avoided.
lol
Appell is not smart about the climate, and he’s not smart about guns. But, at least, he’s consistently un-smart. So he earns a gold star.
😆

“rare blanket of the white stuff stopped some of the world’s most famous golfers teeing off at a major tournament in Tucson, Arizona, yesterday.”
How many have killed themself and/or family members with their car?
Obviously, Appell is correct about guns. Obviously that is why we see the big push to disarm law abiding citizens. Obviously, only criminals will then have guns — and they will quickly all shoot themselves by accident. And then we will all be safe from criminals. Hooray!
Obviously…
If it was about a 100 years ago, Appel would be walking down the street with a sandwich board crying : “The end is nigh”
Now he makes a fool of himself by blogging. IMO.
David Appell can of course be likened to a cockroach, whose population explodes when those responsible for keeping the place clean refuse to do it. Academic scientists were originally responsible, and they just kept throwing garbage out onto the street (they wrapped it in old, tattered newspapers labelled “peer reviewed”, of course). Now our political “leaders” actually woo the cockroaches, inviting them to thrive.
Proving once again that arithmetic is tough.
And in Mr. Appel’s case, so is simple spelling.
Which makes him perfectly qualified to be a Glowball Warmonger. IPCC leadership no doubt awaits.
This is what a BS in mathematics and a PhD in physics gets you. Degrees have completely lost their gravitas thanks to the likes of David.
Perhaps there was a mistake. Perhaps he received a PhD in BS.
His BS is Piled Higher and Deeper!
Appell appears to be an extreme indoctrinated psycho leftist nutbag.
Come on folks. Give Appell a break. Shothead had probably just taken his daily dose of kool-aid when he wrote this reply. =Dumbass
Appell is projecting his own fears again, meaning that he realizes that he is inept and would shoot himself, and therefore projects that everyone is inept and will shoot themselves. This is the kind of fear that we overcome as children when we fear being hurt when learning to ride a bike or ski down a hill without hurting ourselves. Most people learn from childhood and overcome such fears but many people don’t and continue to project their own fears on everyone else. Normally this is not a problem until you get idiots like David who want to force everyone else to accept his fear and stop doing what David is afraid of.
That statistic about being shot in your own home–does that ONLY include people shot by their own gun, or include those shot by someone else or the police? That is important to know.
I know a large number of gun owners and only one person who actually shot someone, and that was in the line of duty. It’s far more common for the attacker or thief to flee at the sight of a gun.
Maybe the 50:50 chance means you either will be or won’t be shot. That’s 50:50 and the same for everyone including non-gun owners. Perhaps he need a remedial course in statistics?
