The reason we are in the Middle East is because of oil. The best way to make America safe is to develop energy sources in North America, and quit sending money and human fodder to the Middle East.

Most of us in Canada are happy to supply the USA with oil and natural gas. We’d much prefer that to the constant USA International State Based Terrorism in pursuit of oil in the middle east.
The other option is for the USA to dig into it’s 1000 or so year supply of coal resources and be independent of everyone else.
The eco-tyrants are turning into supporters of State Based Terrorism as Obama is proving.

Consider the possible consequences if the environmentalists force an end to fracing. Putin and the OPEC cartel have absolute control over the price of oil. When the price rises at the pump and the guy filling up feels the pain, he’s going to want something done. The cry goes up for cheaper oil. Where is this cheaper oil? Offshore California, Alaska ANWAR, off the east coast, offshore Florida. All the places the enviros have kept us from drilling so far, and probably the only places where oil can be found where the formations don’t require fracing.
How much do you think the price at the pump has to rise before people pull their heads out? Environmental lies only hold up so far when it’s your pocket book that is being drained.
These areas will eventually be drilled. Economics of the pocket book will determine when.
