Climate activists descended on Washington, D.C., on Sunday in what organizers boasted was the largest climate-change rally in American history, claiming more than 35,000 attendees.
Climate change rally brings thousands to protest in Washington – latimes.com
For every one person McKibben’s event, one hundred people attend a NASCAR event.
According to NASCAR estimates, 3,518,000 million attended last year’s 36 Sprint Cup races.
The imbeciles in Washington today were demanding “immediate climate action.” I wonder why Obama didn’t stay in Washington and fix the weather for them?
Pity the photo only shows 100-200 people there. Does anyone have a wider shot of the event?
I found a wider shot… At least about 10K there.

How about: for every 40 people at the rally, China and India are planning to build an entire new coal-fired power plant.
The Daytona 500 usually has ~250,000 on race day. The Indy 500, ~ 300,000 on race day. This does not include attendances during practice and qualifying.
It also doesn’t include attendances @ the Nationwide Series and Camping World Truck Series races held the two days prior to the 500.
They had 130 buses.
Exactly. All the hypocrites arrived in Mordor on the Potomac by planes, trains and automobiles. No bigger hypocrites, other than those in DC government, than global warming alarmists. Protect and Defend!!!
35000 is still a pathetic attendance considering that the world is going to end tomorrow unless something is done today
Population of the USA, 315,521,000. Statistically, it shouldn’t be too much trouble to find 35,000 morons.
Assuming 5% of the population are morons, we’re talking about 16 million morons. Unfortunately, the disadvantage of being a moron is that most of them would have got lost on the way to the rally. It’s highly likely David Appell caught the wrong bus, for example.
If the climate alarmist are so worried about the amount of C02 that goes into the atmosphere why aren’t they protesting NASCAR ,Indy, or NHRA races?
They have, here and there. But the problem is, as thirsty as the race cars are, far more fuel is consumed by fans traveling to and from the races than in the races themselves.
