Secretary Of State Says That The 1930s Dust Bowl Could Have Been Prevented By Investing More In Solyndra

“We as a nation must have the foresight and courage to make the investments necessary to safeguard the most sacred trust we keep for our children and grandchildren: an environment not ravaged by rising seas, deadly superstorms, devastating droughts, and the other hallmarks of a dramatically changing climate,” said Kerry, according to prepared remarks.

During the 13th century, a 75 year long drought wiped out the Anasazi – and then they moved into solar powered caves.

I wonder what New Yorkers could have done to prevent the 1821 superstorm?

In 1821, stunned colonial New Yorkers recorded sea levels rising as fast as 13 feet in a single hour at the Battery. The East River and Hudson Rivers merged over Lower Manhattan all the way to Canal Street. According to Coch, the fact that the 1821 storm struck at low tide “is the only thing that saved the city.”

In the event of a direct hit by a category-3 hurricane, surge maps show that the Holland and Battery Tunnels will be completely filled with sea water, with many subway and railroad tunnels severely flooded as well. The runways of LaGuardia and JFK airports will get flooded by 18.1 and 31.2 feet of water, respectively.

John Kerry. Living proof that a complete idiot can be a successful politician. Come to think of it, there are lots of living proofs…

In the event of a direct hit by a category-3 hurricane…
As far as I can tell, it wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing.
For a start, NY State would become solidly Republican for the first time since Reagan.

“I wonder what New Yorkers could have done to prevent the 1821 Superstorm?”

Tax everyone in New York $100 per tonne of coal and firewood used for their houses, factories, heating and cooking and survival, and then spend it on windmills (that blow away), and on paper credits from a dodgy London stock market looking to get even for the war of 1812. That will keep the tidal surge out. Sounds stupid eh?

That’s what Australia is doing now and you guys in the US want to follow us? We’re lucky cos we’ll repeal that dumb tax in about 6 months. You’ll never get the chance if it comes in by Executive Order.

  4. Andy DC says:

The safe climate of 1938 produced a CAT 3 hurricane that missed NYC by only 60 miles. As it is, it still killed nearly 700 people.

So in 1821, New York was colonial? What did we do, cede it back to Britain? Come to think of it, that sounds like a plan!

  5. The country is now being run by cloaked Nazis, who will brook no opposition, even from the physical reality, and as far as “climate change” is concerned, the fault falls directly on the long-nurtured incompetence of academic scientists, worldwide. The whole scientific paradigm is failing in the most monumental and tragic way: By the rise of tyranny in the name of science. The outermost tendrils of the irresistible force are now encountering the farthest edge of the immovable object.

If Kerry was looking for a Benghazi diversion, he could not have picked a more tone deaf message. Americans placed ‘dealing with global warming’ as 21st out of 21 concerns.

    Who is Kerry representing?

  7. Sundance says:

Steve – I thought just read that the 13 century drought lasted over 100 years with as much as 50 consecutive years of drought during that time span. I was just reading a study on this using bristlecone pines and I left a comment at Science about this. So far the current drought seems impotent and only the past drought is worse than we thought. 🙂

It looks like Kerry is carrying on in the Biden tradition with idiotic statements. Solyndra failed because of failed management and probably was a front for stealing taxpayers dollars. What they need to investigate is where the money ended up. Maybe Muslim Brotherhood.
