Murphy and co-author Brandon Webb also revealed that the September 11 Benghazi terrorist attack that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, was retaliation by Islamist militants who had been targeted by covert U.S. military operations.
The book claims that neither Stevens nor even Petraeus knew about the raids by American special operations troops, which had ‘kicked a hornet’s nest’ among the heavily-armed fighters after the overthrow of Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
John Brennan, President Barack Obama’s Deputy National Security Adviser, had been authorizing ‘unilateral operations in North Africa outside of the traditional command structure,’ according to the e-book. Brennan is Obama’s pick to replace Petraeus as head of the CIA.
Obama’s top terrorism and intelligence adviser, John O. Brennan, headed a firm that was cited in March for breaching sensitive files in the State Department’s passport office, according to a State Department Inspector General’s report released this past July.
The security breach, first reported by the Washington Times and later confirmed by State Department spokesman Sean McCormack, involved a contract employee of Brennan’s firm, The Analysis Corp., which has earned millions of dollars providing intelligence-related consulting services to federal agencies and private companies.
During a State Department briefing on March 21, 2008, McCormack confirmed that the contractor had accessed the passport files of presidential candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and John McCain, and that the inspector general had launched an investigation.
Sources who tracked the investigation say that the main target of the breach was the Obama passport file, and that the contractor accessed the file in order to “cauterize” the records of potentially embarrassing information. “They looked at the McCain and Clinton files as well to create confusion,” one knowledgeable source said. “But this was basically an attempt to cauterize the Obama file.”

LT. (Not a Military Designation) Quarles Harris, the person who breached the files was later found with a single gunshot wound to the head after he began cooperating with law enforcement in re to the investigation.

Good work, Dabuh. I was going to make the same point – Brennan has been working at a very high tactical level for the Obama White House since the beginning. Some might say he’s being compensated for “dealing” with Obama’s passport problems with that little Analysis Corp break-in.
Just after the “unauthorized access of passport records” of the three candidates, Obama let it be known at a fundraiser that he had “traveled to Pakistan” when he was in college with his Pakistani roommate
No doubt the passport records now show he was in and out of Pakistan licketty-split on his genuine, legitimate US American passport, all on the up-and-up – even though US travel to Pakistan was officially discouraged at the time. Nothing to see here, move along, move along.
