Obama’s home town of Chicago is far more dangerous than Afghanistan, because of the illegal guns being used by minority gangs.
Obama ignores the illegal guns, and is instead going after the legally held guns owned by law-abiding citizens – in regions where the violent crime rate is essentially zero.

When your entire agenda depends on exploiting crisis situations you never want to actually solve a crisis.
You are exactly right Bob! .. The goal here is to create more crisis’, not solve a crisis. Remember, “never let a good crisis go to waste”, and “if you don’t have a crisis, create one”
The criminal element is intertwined with the political machine, that’s the honest answer. Rahm Emanuell has mobilized 200 desk officers into the cold and snow as a show which will impress dingbat progressives already living in safe North Shore gated communities, but will have no impact on murders. I expect a major outbreak of Blue Flu in Chicago any day. 🙂

Security guards and metal detectors at entrances to public housing to inhibit illegal weapons would be money well spent. Focus on where the problem is.
A minor price to pay by the residents for getting essentially almost free housing.

Because those with illegal weapons don’t use them as a deterrent. They use them to violate the rights of others. They aren’t afraid to shoot cops, much less glorified gun-fetchers.
