   According to the new book, Science Left Behind, the phrase “global warming” was considered unscientific and was replaced by “climate change.” The latter phrase only defines it in an irrefutable manner and cannot be scientific.

   My local radio station had a report about water levels on the Ottawa river. They are high and the authorities blame it on melting; hey, it’s spring!

   I never would have thought that floods in spring in Canada needed explaining; although it does appear to be necessary to people who buy or build houses in flood plains.

   Brainless Climate Alarmists are holding the Australian Coal Mining Industry to Ransom.

   Australian Coal Reserves:
   * 115 Gigatonnes of coal reserves with a current nett profit of about $40 per tonne
   * Australian Carbon Tax (at $23 per Tn of CO2-e) liability is about A$84 per tonne of coal.

   Essentially, coal in the ground is worthless unless the nett margin exceeds $84 per tonne which is highly unlikely to happen anytime in the near future (current sale price is $120-140 per tonne). Even then, investors are not going to start up or continue to run mines just to pay the government all the margin as Carbon Tax and then Royalties, Company Tax and PAYE tax as well, before they get a return. $3.5 Trillion in nett assets rendered worthless without government tax credits.

   That’s why the Australian Carbon Tax will be repealed. Because the Australian Coal Industry has been surreptitiously nationalized via a pernicious unsustainable tax based on the imaginary hypotheses of global disaster. This was the Greens aim all along, and Julia Gillard et al are just as brainless as they are. Bring on the election.
