Capitalism Vs. Communism

Capitalism is based on the Darwinian model of competition and survival of the fittest. A healthy economy requires that inferior ideas and companies are weeded out and die.

Communism is the opposite, and is based on the idea of everyone reduced to the lowest common denominator. Communists believe that government should pick technologies and products. Sound familiar?

  1. Fred from Canuckistan . . . says:

Capitalism is the unequal distribution of opportunity and success.

Socialism is the equal distribution of misery and failure.

“Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both.”

  3. Andy Oz says:

Communism is a virus that migrated from Eurasia in 1990, with the fall of the Berlin wall, into the western nations. A virus needs a healthy host, which the West was, and it slowly consumes all the hosts vitality eventually killing it. Notice that the sick countries that communism left behind, now have vibrant capitalistic economies. Meanwhile, the US, UK, Europe and Australia have turned in socialist paradises that are close to destroying themselves. There is no vaccine, only fasting until the hosts immune system eventually deals with the virus, leaving the host much much thinner.

Actually the first pilgrims to America tried communism. They also almost starved, and quickly abandoned that foolishness. Communists have always been amongst us.

Communism is the oldest form of ‘government’. When humanity first gathered in clans, they shared in everything. Capitalism replaced communism naturally, as it is a more successful way to motivate humans and elevates the masses.

Yep. Be thankful that nature isn’t communist. We, nor any other life, would exist. Yet, the communist still can delude himself into thinking that his way is the right one.

      This is an insightful comment….

Communism and Capitalism are just labels. It is about Individualism vs Collectivism, Freedom vs Slavery, Open Distribution vs Central Control.

And anyone who has looked at complex systems or chaos type theories can see that the real world will ultimately destroy a centralised, totalitarian system.

The question is, will we be destroyed along with it.

@phodges–profound, and correct; let’s hope us clever little mammals can emerge from our burrows intact after the dinosaur State has thrashed its last death throes.

  5. It makes little sense to compare a social theory with a biological theory. Evolutionary theory incorporates concepts of kin selection and (perhaps less controversially) group selection these days. Chimps and wolves hunt in packs. Birds flock, fish school. All for individual and shared benefit.

    • leftinbrooklyn says:

None if those species you mentioned would exist if the weakest among them determined their evolutionary progression. None of the species they evolved from would have existed. None of their original species would have survived.

    • leftinbrooklyn says:

But none of those species you mention would exist if the weakest among them held equal ability to determine their evolutionary progress. None of the species they evolved from would have existed.

The strongest Chimps breed the most. The strongest wolves eat first, and the most. If not, they would weaken themselves until extinction. The point is, communism does the same to economies & societies.

Communism only allows greed for those few authorized in high office.
The rest of get what you are given and will like it.

  7. equinoxranch says:

Capitalism is the Grand Opening. Socialism (Communism) the fire sale.

    • “Capitalism is genius. It harnesses the human trair of greed, and converts it intoinnovtion.

Communism tries to suppress greed as if you can eliminate human nature. Thomas Edison was a greedy asshole. Steve jobs, a greedy asshole. It’s the desire to ammass wealth beyond one’s wildest dreams that. motivates like nothing else can. Humans become superhuman when their greed is converted into products and technology humans want. And isn’t greed really ambition? It’s only greed if you could get inside the head of someone and see what motivates them.

Capitalism amplifies human ingenuity. Capitalism supercharges dreams. Capitalism is humanity at its greatest ”

      -Scott A. McCall
