Democratic Congressman Demands That We Don’t Question Authority

Republican Rep. Jason Chaffetz said Thursday that the Department of Homeland Security is using roughly 1,000 rounds of ammunition more per person than the U.S. Army, as he and other lawmakers sharply questioned DHS officials on their “massive” bullet buys.

“It is entirely … inexplicable why the Department of Homeland Security needs so much ammunition,” Chaffetz, R-Utah, said at a hearing.

The hearing itself was unusual, as questions about the department’s ammunition purchases until recently had bubbled largely under the radar — on blogs and in the occasional news article. But as the Department of Homeland Security found itself publicly defending the purchases, lawmakers gradually showed more interest in the issue.

Democratic Rep. John Tierney, D-Mass., at the opening of the hearing, ridiculed the concerns as “conspiracy theories” which have “no place” in the committee room.

Anyone who dares to question Obama is a conspiracy theorist.

But Republicans said the purchases raise “serious” questions about waste and accountability.

Chaffetz, who chairs one of the House oversight subcommittees holding the hearing Thursday, revealed that the department currently has more than 260 million rounds in stock. He said the department bought more than 103 million rounds in 2012 and used 116 million that same year — among roughly 70,000 agents.

Comparing that with the small-arms purchases procured by the U.S. Army, he said the DHS is churning through between 1,300 and 1,600 rounds per officer, while the U.S. Army goes through roughly 350 rounds per soldier.

    Nothing about Basel – Chelsea?

    • Torres hits the post far more often than he hits the goal. How did Terry miss that header? The penalty call was crap. Why was there a hole in the Basel wall on the last kick of the match?

      • Norm says:

Both penalty calls were crap. Although I would have never, ever called the last one at the end of stoppage. The hole in the wall was due to a a well practiced play of a Chelsea player moving just as the play was kicked with Luiz kicking through that hole. The goalie should have blocked it to the side. Only saw the 2nd half and really enjoyed it.

One wonders where all those bullets are and if they can be accounted for?

Some of them are lodged in some guy’s boat in Massachusettes.

I have a theory that the current “executive” have a crazy idea that if they buy up ALL the bullets manufactured, there will be no point in owning guns. I see positive feedback here.

Excellent. This is one time that I’d agree with the Precautionary Principle, even if there is an ‘innocent’ explanation in this case.

Inhofe, although not a Tea Partier, seems to be one Senator who take shis job seriously.

Obama is worried about imagined deniers not embracing the new Mayan like cult worship of CO2 as the new “God Particle”. Obama demands twitter loyalty in rooting out non-believers of radical environmentalism and the end of days prophecy that CO2 will wipe out mankind. every new decade we enter. Yet in the county in Illinois where Obama lived and served, the murder capital of the US Cook County Illinois, people are actually already being helped in meeting with their end of days by bad air quality.

    http://www.stateoftheair.org/2013/states/illinois/cook-17031.html

There has been no increase in temperature or precipitation in 117 years of data in Illinois but Obama wants people in Cook County to believe that they are burning up alive and drowning because of CO2 when in reality Democrats running Cook County are killing them with real pollution. 😉

I find “The Department of Homeland Security” to be very Orwellian. We are impeded and fear more that government service, that is supposed to provide us security.

And what does it do? I haven’t noticed more security; just more paranoia. And it doesn’t enforce existing laws concerning your borders – except against those evil Canadians.

Two articles from Zero hedge worth reading:

Battle Field United States of America:http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-04-25/battlefield-united-states-america

Muddle through has failed, there are only painful ways out of the crises.
    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/muddle-through-has-failed-bcg-says-there-may-be-only-painful-ways-out-crisis

Now the last article is a scenario how the global middle- and upper class are going to be stripped of 30% of their assets in one single operation. Now to organize a global operation like this there will be the World Bank and good old Agenda 21 (sustainable development), signed by W Bush and at least 179 other countries. When this operation is set up they will establish Global Governance, population controls and the full Green Agenda in one single sweep. http://green-agenda.com Of course Obama, his cronies and his dumb democrat electorate will endorse such a move but resistance will come from you, me and any other sane person with some apathy against Green Fascists Thieves. This indeed makes the USA the battle ground and it puts us in a clear position from day one. It’s them or us. I say bring it on. We can have those shit for brains for breakfast and eat them raw. If someone thinks I am wrong with my assessment, bring it on too. Love to hear alternative views but for now I have seen enough. This is the big plan.

Was there ever confirmation and the additional 800 plus million rounds rumored to have been ordered?

“Massachusetts has one of the lowest rates of gun ownership in the nation. What went through the minds of the sheep while sheltering in place as the wolf prowled around their doors? How emasculating it must feel to be a husband or father whose only response to grave danger to yourself, your wife, and your family is to cower in your home, door locked, awaiting the wolf to prey upon your family, with the shepherd your only hope of salvation.”

    Robert T Smith, American Thinker

Watching the video of the cops bringing people out of their houses with their hands behind their head and then patting them down was chilling. What was the point?

Just like obamacare, you’ll find out what’s in it, when they start using the Ammo against the people..

He said the department bought more than 103 million rounds in 2012 and used 116 million that same year — among roughly 70,000 agents.

So each agent used roughly 1500 hundred rounds each last year; I do not believe that.

    • bkivey says:

That is a lot of ammo. It’s roughly twice what I’ve ever shot in a year. It’d be interesting to compare that level of use with that of a police officer, who has far more incentive to stay proficient.

  13. The democrat congressman says don’t question authority. I will question authority , when the democrats are pushing communism. They all took an Oath to the Constitution, pushing socialism, communism ,fascism, democracy are all a violation to their Oath to the Constitution, and should all be impeach.
