Is there any source document to back up this quote? It sounds a little too convenient to me. Given the fact that could simply (and did) kill any bourgeoisie he wanted to, I can’t see why he would bother with gun registrations.
Everyone in Russia was armed at the time of the revolution. Lenin did exactly the same thing which Obama is trying to do.
Bullshit. There were massive shortages of weapons in Russia throughout most of this period. Rifles were rare and expensive, and the Proletariat poverty stricken. During Lenin’s reign there were long periods of civil war and civil unrest. You’re asserting Lenin is thinking to himself, “Oh golly gee whiz, we gotta register the guns of those nasty bourgeoisie so that they don’t get any funny ideas.” Gimma a break. What he actually did was kill them or organise mobs to kill them, if the felt any bourgeoisie group was a threat to the regime. His regime was often found fighting for its very existence. I doubt very much it bothered with such niceties as gun ownership registrations. I expect it had more important things to worry about.

Still bullshit. First, you’re mixing up weapons in general (swords, spears, knives) with firearms. Secondly, your evidence consists of linking to an opinion article without citation. That’s call wish self-fulfilment, not evidence. (Although I would be surprised if everyone everywhere didn’t carry knives and implements that could be used as weapons, if they could, prior to the introduction of police forces, etc.)
