Progressives used to claim that they loved diversity. Now they insist that unless everyone else thinks and acts exactly like they do, the world will fall apart.
During the election campaign, Obama pretended to be an open minded centrist (who loved coal.) Now he constantly trashes every American who disagrees with him, and is destroying the coal industry.
Obama and the Democratic Party have become everything they claim to hate. They are the enemy of diversity, the enemy of freedom, and the enemy of all things liberal.
They are The Borg. They have this desperate need to assimilate everything and everyone into their sick, pathetic little world.
Bottom line is that they can’t stand people who are happy and emotionally healthy, and believe they are entitled to make everyone else as miserable as they are.

I came to this very same conclusion a couple of years ago. It is actually very Orwellian. If you listen to their rhetoric and then look at their actions, they are as opposite as can be.
Fundamentally, Socialists cannot tolerate difference, because this would be incompatible with their system of envy.
I’ve been trying to explain that the temporary alliance between the Socialists and the militant political homosexual community is going to end in tragedy. Sooner or later the Socialists will push the fringe groups under the bus, as soon as those people are no longer politically useful. Any group who live any sort of alternative lifestyle should be politically supporting individual rights and individual liberty, not collective rights (if they know what’s good for them).

My wife doesn’t get that and it drives me crazy. She myopically looks at her causes and can’t see how it could possibly be bad if everyone in the nation was forced to do the “right” thing. The left is far more dangerous than the right at the moment. Their is more real diversity and tolerance on the right than on the left.

Progressives have always talked the good game about diversity, but they have never lived it. It’s always just been a feel-good tool to suck the sheep in. In the 60s, my older brother came home from college a converted, Manifesto-thumping, progressive. Every word said by anyone in our house, he had to be parsed, examined for racist intentions, and corrected. Everything was politically incorrect or didn’t follow the party line. At eight-years old, I learned that “progress” meant beating down anyone who didn’t agree with you, because Progressives always think they have the better brains, the better solutions and the moral high ground. They are rigid ideologues who lack any capacity for self-reflection and humor. They are rigid absolutists. Is this any sane person’s idea of perfection?
