Poudre River Obliterates Its Flood Record

The previous record for river depth in Fort Collins was 10.5 feet. It went over 14 feet early this morning.

This was one of the more popular bike trails taken earlier at about 10 feet depth.

    Holy cow, if that’s what I think it is (Poudre Trail @ College), that’s ridiculous. Since I moved last spring I don’t get to see the Poudre very often.

    It’s too bad the USGS data doesn’t go back to the 1990s or even back to 1976, when the Big Thompson seriously flooded. It would be interesting to see how the data from the last few days compares to those high water periods.
