Notice the “challenge all arguments against” … aka “undeniable evidence”. The calls for civil servants to accept the “science” and prosecute and convict “witches”. Then finally we have the submission to peer review seeking endorsement.
Time to write a comparison between the witch hunts of the 1400s and the damning of Deniers today Me thinks.
Yes, the witch burnings were all done during the Little Ice Age. This was a desperate attempt at creating global warming and didn’t end until the Little Ice Age itself, finally ended.
Now, the Witch Generals are on the hunt again blaming us for global warming which began in 1800.

The Hudson river already froze over. Only massive ice breakers keep a narrow path open and if it continues below zero, even that will fail.

As a kid in upper state NY, I either wore kiddie X country skis or skates. The skates acted as crampons. They would cut through the upper layer of ice crusted snow but I was light enough (40 lbs) that the soles stayed on top. If the ice on the snow was too thick, I just went skating. A wee bit tricky on a hillside though. If the snow was still powder, I had to use the skis or I would sink over my head. Then again I was something of a midget (under 30 inches) and had to reach up to open a door. Bummer when you are in grade school and have to wear clothes for a two year old.
We were in the Southern Tier with lake effect snow and ten degrees colder temperatures. Think Buffalo NY but colder. Never saw the ground for three to four months of the year. I think may parents got the skis and skates out of desperation to get me out of the house safely.

I live a ways from there, on the border of Vermont but yes, we get hammered.
My son used to sled down the mountain for the bus stop. Sometimes the bus would be mired in snow and the inmates would abscond and hike back home! My son always liked that… 🙂
Actually a very small town mid state south of Syracuse — Ten degrees colder and two foot more snow compared to Syracuse. I think we were in the direct storm path for the storms coming out of the Buffalo area. The dog used to climb the snow drifts and sit on the garage roof!

Syracuse is the 4th snowiest place in the US according to USA Today. I know that near there along I-95 one passes an old “V” plow mounted at a Highway maintenance station that has painted on it the average snowfall and the claim it is the snowiest place in NY.
Did someone in authority appear on tv and radio and social media to explain to the children what all that white stuff was and what causes it? Because I recall some scientist stating that these kids wouldn’t even know what snow was like…..

It’s probably a good thing that alarmists said that there’d be no snow, then turn around and say CAGW causes more snow; it has exposed them for the charlatans they truly are.
I live in London and so far no snow, not even cold at the moment. There has been some wet snow around the country but none has settled the first real chance for widespread settled snow comes Saturday and next week if the synoptics remain favourable , but like with everything nowadays beware the hyperbole. Even UKMO which is dedicated to AGW also is a mistress to H&S madness so will always over do the weather warnings which hardly come off. To be honest I’ll doubt we’ll get any serious settle snow in the SE of the UK.

The snow storm of 1996 was even worse, though, as was 2010.

Of course we have had snow since that stupid statement in the Independent .But last year and this winter so far no snow on the ground on the SE. What I’m saying is caution is needed as one sceptic exaggeration doesn’t negate a warmist exaggeration .
As I pointed out several time UKMO serves two gods the god of AGW and the god of H&S. Both ar4e weapons used by the left to bash western capitalism , however both are not mutually exclusive, so when we get just a whiff of a snow flake no mater how unlikely UKMO will react with way OTT constant weather warnings. So although UKMO are dedicated to 1AGW no matter what , they are also dedicated to plastering the UK in red, green and yellow warning signs.
I’m glad you mentioned public transport. Back in December 2010 much of the UK was under a severe cold December and public transport stopped. Now people will use that just to show how severe that period was. Well I can remember at least three very distinct much colder and more disruptive periods than that with one being the winter of 78/79.
Now this was a winter of again three major snow falls for London and much of the country it was also the time of the Iranian revolution . At that time I worked for London Transports Buses and regardless of no matter how severe that winter was with snow packed on main roads I cannot recall that whole period of ever being told go-home as the buses have been cancelled today , but this did happen in December 2010 why? Well some (us sceptics) will want to believe that it was due to the weather being far more severe in 2010 than in 78/79 but I lived and worked throughout winters and can categorically say that 78/79 was far worse with most main transport roads continually and readily covered by snow. Yet public transport in the form of buses trundled on yet in December 2010 they stopped. Well there are two very distinct reasons for that . The first one is that H&S became the battleground of the left as the trade union movement in the UK became impotent after major battles in the eighties and shrank to almost being meaningless. But the second reason was revenue. In the memorable London SE UK winters of the past buses accrued their revenue through fares actually collected on the journey by conductors, travel cards. oyster cards were unknown but throughout new century a revolution took place in bus transport with all passengers having to increasingly switch to prepaid fare arrangements , in fact in London now you cannot pay for your fare on the bus it has to be pre-paid. Anyhow what this meant in December 2010 was the now new bus operators Transport For London decided to withdraw services in the name of H&S meets severe weather and of course there were no fares to be collected as they are now all pre paid so the attitude was “sod em” let them walk to work through the snow.
However all of these factors gives the impression that December 2010 was so severe that buses stopped running which hadn’t happened on London routes before on this scale. Before pre paid fares the base had to go out to obtain their revenue now it doesn’t matter.
Just to update the so called snow in the UK London never saw any and its now the 23 January 2015

You had me believing you ” Lawrence 13 ” until you presented Snow cover of only .5% for England ? Currently they have some of the worst snow falls extensively in the Midlands and Northern England that has caused chaos , including closing of airports & main roads etc… You have to remember, that there are many independent photo’s taken around England showing Cars buried in Snow… no media trick or UKMO hype there…

As a child, I lived in Southeast England (suburban London and Hertfordshire) for three years, I believe 1948 to 1951. My recollection is that snow was very rare then, and snow that actually accumulated was unheard of.
Beal, try googling snow in England in 1947, the worst winter in living memory.
Obviously, I missed that. The point is that weather changes.
