The post 1940 cooling wrecked the hockey stick, so government climate scientists realized that they would have to make it disappear, in order to keep their funding coming in.

Some of the most prominent cooling was in Iceland, so Tom and Gavin simply made it disappear.
They were also quite successful at making the cooling in the US disappear.
The global warming scam is a complete fraud, which is why a personality like Barack Obama is so attracted to it.

If you are going to make a hockey stick, you have to give your clients a straight shaft.

And still the authorities are silent. Would be hilarious if $multi-billions didn’t hang on it. If he was wrong Steve should have been sued into oblivion by now by the crack climate experts he repeatedly accuses, yet from multiple individuals and organisations (with a bottomless pit of resources) the silence is truly deafening.
The last thing they want is to be cross-examined in an open court. They would be eviscerated.
The last line is pure gold.
Gavin would not be where he is without pleasing his overlords in the federal govt. He does their bidding (either on direct orders or, as these things go, with plausible deniability and a ‘wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more’).
I sincerely hope Sen. Inhofe pays attention to this blog and starts some investigations. Haul Gavin and his ilk in front of the Senate and make them explain this in front of the cameras. The only way this will ever stop is to make it too uncomfortable politically to keep it up.

When the Climate Gate emails came out I got ahold of the un-redacted copy before the email addresses were removed. I contacted Tom about an email interview. I told him I would not ask anything about Climate Gate and that I would classify myself as a sceptic. I also offered him final approval on the article I would write. He finally agreed. The first question was about a paper he had written showing that hurricanes had increased since 1970’s. The question was why did he pick 1970 when, had he gone back to the early 1900’s, there would have been no trend? And that was the last time I ever heard from him. Maybe he lost my email address….
