NOAA and NASA will both announce this month that 2014 was the hottest year ever. These claims are absurd, and based on intentional deception.
The biggest problem is that they are ignoring the most accurate data sets, which come from satellites and show that 2014 was nowhere near as warm as several other years.
This discrepancy alone should prevent them from making these claims. But there are many other problems. The amount of sea ice on Earth has been persistently above normal, and Antarctic sea ice area has been at record highs

This indicates cold temperatures at high latitudes, where NASA and NOAA have little or no coverage. This excess sea ice reflects sunlight back into space, and cools the planet.
But it gets worse. Autumn Northern Hemisphere snow extent was at a record high. This indicates cold air at low latitudes, and further reflects sunlight back into space, providing more cooling feedback.
Winter snow cover was also well above average, indicating cold air at low latitudes and additional cooling of the planet.
NASA has massively and repeatedly altered their own published data, to cool the past and warm the present. The animation below show their published 1981 surface temperatures in black, and subsequent 1999 and 2014 versions in red. This is consistent with an increase in propaganda, but not consistent with an increase in temperature.
None of these things are consistent with “hottest year ever.” NASA has known for decades that satellite data is more accurate, and their current willful ignorance of their own satellite temperatures, indicates that they are engaged in propaganda, not science.

And we are in Year Two of Subzero Cold in North America, even LA in California isn’t hot anymore and no droughts anywhere, either.

Well, Los Angeles had its share of hot weather and drought in 2014, although there were a couple of cold snaps. And recently, there has been quite a bit of precipitation in many areas there.
However, these conditions where nowhere near historical records.

Worse saying it is warming when it is actually cooling also effects the recommended planting dates for farmers and the type of seed produced by the seed companies. (It is why 92% of farmers think AGW is hog wash.)
The only thing saving our rears so far is the fact CO2 fertilization gives seedlings a bit of a boost and may shorten the time to maturity. It also makes the plants more drought resistant so they will continue growing when there is little rain. Late frosts that wipe out the seedlings or early snows before harvest are already happening. Easily explained: The freezing point of water has increased.
Seriously, it wouldn’t surprise me if alarmists started claiming something like that.
In fact, that is what they are claiming about the increasing Antarctic sea ice area. The claim is that the freezing point of the ocean around Antarctica has risen because of the fresh water influx from melting land ice. Notice that while it may sound plausible at first, no one seems to have any actual measurements to support either decreased salinity or an actual rise in freezing point.

I seriously doubt if Ted Cruz or any other politician can undo the damage that has been done to western science since the end of WWII. The entire system is now corrupt.
