Lenin’s Global Cooling Birthday – 1970

The first Earth Day in 1970 was to honor Lenin on his 100th birthday  On that glorious day for the proletariat, experts predicted 11 degrees cooling by the year 2000.

    And now he blames us for the rebound? Maybe a ‘Thank you’ would be more appropriate.

    Thunder bolts may be signals from the Sun’s pulsar core if that is the source of cosmic rays.

    There are also encouraging indications NASA may start releasing important information on the Sun: Today (April 22, 2015) Holly Zoll updated NASA’s page on Solar Irradiance, . . .

    and acknowledged that changes in Earth’s climate may be better explained by SSI (solar spectral irradiance) than by TSI (total spectral irradiance).

    President Barack Obama is marking the 44th Earth Day with a carbon-emitting extravaganza, spending more than 15 hours on Air Force One and 15 minutes aboard the Marine One helicopter.

    Not including his motorcades in Oso, Washington, the site of a recent devastating mudslide, his trip will consume an estimated 35,565 gallons of fuel.

    According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, the statistics arm of the Department of Energy, burning each gallon emits 21.1 pounds of carbon dioxide, bringing the president’s Earth Day carbon footprint to more than 375.7 tons.

    When I used to commute to the ‘big city’ for work a couple of years ago, it was 80 miles round trip. Add in errands and I was averaging maybe 500 miles per week.

    Obama will burn more fuel today than I would in almost a year and a half, and again not including his motorcade.

    I guess he hasn’t heard about this thing called “TV”, or “Skype”. Maybe it hasn’t hit the papers yet.

    So much for practicing what you preach.

      A gallon of jef fuel weighs 6.79 pounds. I get the chemistry, but isn’t this a misleading statistic?
      I too borrow oxygen from the atmosphere and exhaust as co2, but i don’t consider myself to be adding weight to the air.
      Plant took co2 out and left o2; i eat plant; take o2 and combine with c; exhaust. Rinse and repeat. It is a zero sum game whether done by a fruit fly or digging out of deposits and enjoying neck snapping horse power.

    However coincidental it might be, Ira Einhorn, Founder of Earth Day, “composted” his recently murdered girlfriend on the first Earth Day in 1970. Uncle Joe Stalin “composted” some 20 Million or more of his Soviet ‘comrades’, as well. Rachel Carson/Environmentalism/Earth Day via DDT ban has killed over 50 Million. Apparently, radical environmentalists and radical socialists have mass murder in common. The striking aspect is that environmentalism killed more people than Stalin.
