Arctic BS Reaches The Highest Level Ever

Incomprehensibly stupid articles like these are appearing all over the Internet this spring – like this one from Time Magazine.

In the actual Arctic, sea ice is near its winter maximum, and essentially unchanged from 2005/2006

As far as ice thickness goes, it is the thickest it has been since 2006

The endless stream of lies from the government/media climate propaganda machine continues unabated.

  1. But ….. 97% of government propaganda says it’s true.

  2. Marsh says:

Time Magazine ? Are you sure it wasn’t in Mad Magazine ; that’s more befitting !

  3. Dave N says:

    Must be Time cherry season.

  4. cheshirered says:

Are they referring to what they thought was going to be the ‘lowest highest point’ in early March, which then annoyingly turned out to be just a short-term dip after ice returned to even higher levels later on?
The UK media wet their collective hemp pants over it at the time, but seem curiously reluctant to issue corrections…
Maybe it’s time for a fully-explained take down?

    • cheshirered says:

The article actually claims late Feb rather than early March, but it appears there was a surge later on.

  5. Caleb says:

The media has no shame. When two researchers recently died up on the ice there was little respect for the courage of the researchers, and the hardships and dangers faced by the men who go out on the ice and gather actual data (as opposed to the virtual drivel produced by models). Instead there was the shameless repetition of headlines along the lines of, “Did Global Warming Kill Them?”

    • Menicholas says:

Some were blaming not global warming, but just the deniers…saying deniers had literally murdered them.

      • Caleb says:

Yikes! Can you supply a link?

Actually, if one is going to allow paranoia to run amock, it could just as well work the other way. Just imagine that the data they had collected had convinced them the arctic was not melting. They would no longer be “useful idiots” and would have become a liability to the Big Fist who runs the Alarmists. How to be rid of them? Just send them false data, stating unsafe ice is safe.

I hate that sort of thinking, and try not to go there, however when some of the Alarmist behavior becomes so flamboyantly dishonest, it tends to generate an equal but opposite response. What garbage…

Stick with Truth you know, and it will stick with you.

  6. JeffK says:

Media bias to blame for Florida coral reef bleaching. Before, they reported the wrong science, but now they report fake science, blaming climate quackery for environmental damage of human sewage dumped offshore (by public utilities and cruise ships).
(If climate change is cause, then all the coral in world would be dying. But even at the H-bomb test site in S. Pacific, coral is thriving. http://m.livescience.com/2438-bikini-atoll-corals-recovering-atomic-blast.html)

  7. Russell says:

It’s simple, when the virtual “climatologists” resorted to lies (deliberate untruth) about sea ice they had to keep lying at all cost, else the truth will be known.

  8. darrylb says:

The winter Arctic sea ice has remained fairly constant,

Of course what happened is strong winds pushed and squeezed the ice together for a
few days , and obviously during that time the ice area decreased a little and the ice thickenss increased.

A few days later things were back to normal

And yes, the summer Arctic sea ice has been lower for about the last decade or a little more.

What is of consequence is the fact the Atlantic Multidecadal oscillation appears to be entering its cool phase, evidenced by events in Iceland and also sea ice quantity increases in the North Atlantic.
I am sure we will all enjoy that as it happens. Except that if decadal changes in ocean flow cause, at the same time, a decrease in Antarctic sea ice which would be all of what we would hear.

The bottom line is the total big blue ball sea ice area has remained quite constant. since Satellite measurements began in 1979. Before that there are accounts of extremes, particularly in the Arctic.

I would like to live long enough to see the AGW BS crumble.

Looking at a broader picture, I have been increasing my thinking and my research into the fact that Global Warming, that is Climate Change er ah Climate disruption or well whatever it is, is really a tool for the supreme beings in the United Nations to have one world government.
as in power corrupts, and you all know the rest.

It could have just as well been global cooling, and it almost was.

    • Disillusioned says:

A global cooling scare would be a much easier sell, now. But when you have the entire government system purveying a flaky hypothesis as settled science – although it is failing on every single projection – the falsifications don’t seem to matter. Stalin, Hitler and Goebbels knew their stuff – pushing the Big Lie en masse works.

  9. Hugh says:

Note there is extent, area, thickness, satellite era and two poles to cherry pick from.

IMO a record low moment is rather dull way of using weather in climate change talk. Linear trend is another much abused concept.

  10. Menicholas says:

It is about time that people started to get angry about being lied to.
This nonsense is way beyond intolerable.

  11. Jim Hunt says:

Unfortunately the Arctic is not conforming to your narrative Tony, much like last year:

    https://stevengoddard.wordpress.com/2014/08/01/my-arctic-forecast-4/

On sober reflection I think you’ll find my Arctic forecasts worked out rather better than yours!
