The White House wants to shut down almost half of the US electricity supply, and make electricity prices skyrocket. They are a huge threat to our energy infrastructure.
Meanwhile they worry about imaginary “climate change” affecting the energy infrastructure.
America gets almost half of its electricity from coal.
Obama believes that people should “force their representatives” to shut half of America’s energy supply down, and “make electricity prices skyrocket”

Life in the Obama twilight zone.
Reblogged this on Centinel2012 and commented:
There is drain they don’t have any brains to drain!
Geez… what a complete Tard.. yep.. Ernest Moniz….
“Our Energy Infrastructure is vulnerable to Climate Change”… okay … yea… how?? Who believes this?? Time and time again Progressives Rant on and assume 2 degrees warming will ONLY produce negative changes… absurd.
““Our Energy Infrastructure is vulnerable to Climate Change””
No.. the USA Energy Infrastructure is vulnerable to moronic irresponsible responses to a nonexistent problem.
Not knowing for sure, but I bet it is along the usual lines:
Coastal flooding, endangering refineries and generation plants;
Increased energy in hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.;
Droughts drying up rivers that provide cooling waters;
(I bet) droughts threatening bio-fuel farms;
I could go on. Maybe they include some climate threat to their precious wind-farms and solar arrays.
Who knows?
My wife and I have been foster parents and adoptive parents of special needs children for decades In addition, she teaches head start.
The families we work with have no idea and could care less about some perceived change in climate. They do want their homes heated, especially when it is bitterly cold here in MN.
Of course, personal paternal responsibility is what is most often lacking and yes, many times we have helped them determine ways to use yours and our tax dollars to help pay for their basic needs.
But it is a win-win situation for all of us if the most affordable energy is made available for
all of our needs. A false narrative has been developed and is becoming excruciatingly pervasive.That narrative is that energy
from the sun, stored in plant life, is somehow bad. CO2 was once thought of as an elixir of life.
That fact has not changed.
I have been trying to bring into focus just why this has all come about.
I know of course, we can go back a hundred years and from that time hence various scenarios have been proposed as to the consequences of increased CO2 atmospheric concentration.
One interesting fact, is that the nature of human thinking is quite overlooked. Every outcome, whether it be global warming, or global cooling or any combination thereof always brings with it
the idea that bad things are going to happen.
What is overlooked is the fact that over the ages
CO2 has been consumed and stored as part of the structure of organic materials. Using the energy stored in the materials releases the CO2 and a major outcome is that the planet is as much as 20% greener. It is human nature to look for the bad, when the primary outcome is really something very good
I agree with your analysis, darrylb, and with the concluding answer to your question:
Why has this all come about? It is human nature to look for the bad, when the primary outcome is really something very good.
The energy released from the cores of heavy atoms to destroy Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945 is the same energy in the core of the Sun that made our chemical elements, birthed the solar system, and sustains our lives.

Neutron repulsion in the cores of heavy atoms and the Sun is the creator, destroyer and sustainer of every atom, life and world in the solar system.
Hey darrylb! “I have been trying to bring into focus just why this has all come about.”
I think that pretty much all sceptics have to come to grips with that question. When I first started to be convinced that the CAGW scare was false, I naturally asked myself the same question, “how did we get the CO2 issue so wrong?” My initial thought was simply that climate is extraordinarily complex, and perhaps the issue was just so intrinsically difficult that a lot of people got it wrong. But then I started to run across errors that were so obvious, so blatant, that it became no longer possible to just believe that errors were the result of complexity. For example the site survey project from Watts pointed out the high percentage of bad temperature sites. No competent scientist would accept data from such sites. Even worse was the scientific community response to the survey. I truly expected that all the major players in the CAGW community would demand better sites — but NO!, not a peep out of them, and they even claimed that they could somehow adjust the errors away. What the &^&%?! I told myself that maybe that was just extreme confirmation bias. But then I started reading Tony’s continuing graphs showing a clear and unambiguous pattern of distorting the data. Month after month, year after year, location after location, they were simply lying about the data. Game over — this is scientific fraud! Tellingly, everywhere you see this fraud it is accompanied by the urgent demand that we give up our money, give up our life styles, give up our ability to run our own lives, and all of that in order to save the planet from a gigantic falsehood. And the people that tell us that? They are flying private jets and living in multiple homes with tens of thousands of square feet. These people are psychopaths and they mean to be your master..
So, why has this come about? It has come about because someone or rather some group, can lie without blushing, and can spend years and years on the task of convincing us that the only way to survive is to be a serf.
(And thank you, darrlyb for your compassionate help to those less able to help themselves. And thank you, Tony, for your years of service in support of the truth.)
Fracking has allowed America to substitute cleaner natural gas for coal to produce electricity. Of course, President Obama would prohibit fracking if he could. It’s almost enough to think President Obama doesn’t care about clean energy — or any energy for that matter.
“….Pseudoscience and socialism,
Obama and his tricks;
Combining fear and ignorance,
It’s such a potent mix.
A big enough lie told often enough,
How many are being deceived?
And his incredulous rants on climate,
By how many are being believed?….”

Where will the ~ 1 gigaton of coal currently mined annually in the US go?
To China, to repay debt owed?
