Indiana Burning On March 27, 1910

On March 27, 1910 temperatures were 70F (21C) all the way to the shores of Lake Superior. Salem Indiana reached 97F (36C.)  If this happened now, scientists would say they are 99% certain it was caused by humans.

Based on the weather personalities seen on TV, trying to predict the weather seems to be a very difficult task and one they must get a lot of ribbing from their friends. They still seem to want the job though even when they are wrong so often. Lol

“Temperatures will average 15-30 degrees Fahrenheit below normal with the core of the cold air directed at the North Central states. Normal highs during the first week of April are in the lower to middle 50s in Minneapolis, Chicago and Detroit and in the 60s from Kansas City, Missouri, to Nashville and Cincinnati.”

      Yea Ren
We Hoosiers and those in surrounding states are in for a cold start for April with some hard freezes to come. Going to really screw up some of the vegetation. My Chinese Elms and Cotton wood already have buds on them. The Robins started showing up last week. But Old Man winter still isn’t done with us as of yet.

I remember back in the 60s and 70s this time of year was always associated with a usually active start to the tornado season in my part of the country. Now it would have to be a snownado.

I guess even a skeptic like me can be taken in my the hype sometimes. I have had the impression that tropical cyclone activity in the Pacific was up significantly over the last few years but my impression was wrong. It is up but not nearly to the extent I thought it was.

Nope, no cooling in the sixties and seventies, and the thirties was downright pleasant.

My old stomping grounds in the Arctic are/were running at -35C or colder, so all that cold air is coming down
