UAH has 2017 Ocean in 3rd place, behind 2016 and 1998.

Of course , oceans have been considerably warmer for most of the Holocene and in many place were probably warmer in the 1940s.

  2. JPinBalt says:

Looks like a statistically insignificant 00.026° C Global “Warming” now against 1994-2013 base year average as Jan. 30, 2017. Almost a quarter century of catastrophe hype over forecasts which never come true, sell some papers, get some funding for research budgets or government subsidies. 2018 will be negative anomaly, then can start selling global cooling chasing money.

  3. Robertv says:

And most of the cold water can be found where they have summer now. So they’ll start winter without a heat reserve. Sounds promising.

“Sea surface temperatures are below normal over half of the Earth’s oceans, and climate scientists say they are the hottest ever!”

    Deep doublethinkers.

  5. CheshireRed says:

‘Hottest’. There’s nothing ‘hot’ about ocean temp increases of a fraction of a degree. Look how pejorative language is again used to scare the bejesus out of the public. Pretty despicable but par for the propaganda course.

  6. RAH says:

Meanwhile the solar disk is once again spotless, as it has been quite a bit lately as cycle 24 nears it’s end.

    Forgot the pic.

  8. Gamecock says:

Putting ‘climate’ in front of science is like putting ‘witch’ in front of doctor.

SSTs and Ocean Heat content seem to have suffered the similar problems as the temperature record.
