  1. Gamecock says:

‘She says the government has been “talking for a long, long time about how climate change is a problem, yet they’re continuing to contribute to that problem instead of taking action on it. With this lawsuit, we’re asking them to take that action.”’

This may work to get governments to . . . STFU. If you aren’t going to do anything about it, you best stop talking about it. This pony ride is just about over.

In a related story, lawyers impoverish the Danish monarchy by forcing King Canute to pay for damage caused by high tides.

This stultifying atmosphere is asphyxiating. I need to go outside.

The linked article reports Sierra Robinson from British Columbia is one of 15 plaintiffs in the lawsuit. It is a shame Sierra and her legal system was not around 20,000 years ago. Perhaps they could have stopped the wall of ice crashing down from the north that invaded present-day Washington State ~19,000 years ago. That 1,000 meters of ice on top of present-day Seattle 2,000 years later was very inconvenient for the early inhabitants.

I look forward to the lawsuits against China and the Chinese response.

  6. Dan Pangburn says:

The irony is that CO2 has no significant effect on climate.
Simple calculations using data from Hitran show water vapor is 37+ times more effective than CO2 at ground level warming. Added cooling by increased CO2 well above the tropopause counters and perhaps exceeds the tiny added warming from more CO2 at ground level.
Measured water vapor trend has been increasing faster than possible from feedback.

Did you ever notice that all these people who file these lawsuits and their lawyers have no problem with the oil companies suppling the gas they need to get to the courts to file their law suits yet they want to blame these same oil companies for the problems.

More proof that Avenatti is the norm of the profession not the exception.

Idiocy Is the norm these days.

  10. Bob says:

Think positive. The more, and bigger, lawsuits the better. eg. Exxon’s massive defence budget would probably suffocate the minnows. Tony Heller and the likes could provide 200 years of false Impending Doom history. Trials’ll make amusing TV fodder.
