Smart move! The USA should follow their lead. Coal is cheap, and with the new technology, much cleaner than it used to be. Plus, it will help replenish our depleted supply of atmospheric CO2 needed for better food production on farms.
Absolutely, Cathy!
Yes a WIN WIN Power + Food
Amen to that Cathy!!
They have figured out that building nuclear power plants on their very seismically active islands is probably not the best policy. Who would have known that building such facilities along one of the most active portions of the ring of fire could lead to serious consequences?
Good news for Australia that supplies about 60% of the coal. Indonesia and Russia next, then USA, and Canada.
Irony (maybe not the best term) is that officials in OZ/US/CA are anti-coal. In the US, coal is plentiful, but gas is cheaper. Shipping coal out is frowned on by the CO2-unhinged.
I guess Japan is Considering Coal as Renewable lol
Japan’s new coal plants will emit about the same amount of carbon dioxide as Alberta’s oil sands. Canadian and American environmental groups try to shut down Canada’s oil while ignoring Japan. These “environmentalists” are about politics (power and control), not the environment.
