National Geographic posted this picture of Oroville Reservoir in California, and said the low water levels were caused by a megadrought which rivaled anything in the last 1,200 years.

‘Megadrought’ persists in western U.S., as another extremely dry year develops

Four years ago, Oroville Reservoir had so much water in it, 180,000 people were evacuated below the dam, because it was in danger of collapsing.

The press blamed the record precipitation on global warming.

A few months before that, Governor Brown and the press announced the California permanent drought.

There is no trend in California precipitation since the end of the 19th century, and the last 48 months have had above average precipitation.

But longer term, tree ring records show that California is prone to 200 year long droughts and the 20th century was unusually wet.

Thirty years ago, the New York Times knew that the 20th century was unusually wet in California, and that the Medieval Warm Period was global.

“Lisa J. Graumlich, who examines the ring patterns of foxtail pine trees and western junipers in the Sierra Nevada, has compiled a detailed record of the year-to-year variation in temperature and precipitation over the last thousand years.

She has seen in the North American trees the feathery but unmistakable signatures of the Medieval Warm Period, a era from 1100 to 1375 A.D. when, according to European writers of the time and other sources, the climate was so balmy that wine grapes flourished in Britain and the Vikings farmed the now-frozen expanse of Greenland; and the Little Ice Age, a stretch of abnormally frigid weather lasting roughly from 1450 to 1850. A Crucial Question

“We can now see that these were global climate phenomena, not regional temperature variations,” she said. “The question is, how did we get those warmer temperatures during pre-industrial times, and what can we learn from those conditions about what is going on today?”

Western landscapes in presettlement era were very smoky places, and droughts were caused by La Nina.

The press is directly inverting science and reality, and the reason they are doing this is because they are being paid to lie by very rich and powerful people.

Oh no, Tony! You can’t present nasty facts! They might offend someone.
(And it’s particularly nasty of you to back up everything you say with publications from years ago that confirm what you say. Whatever will ‘Media Bias/Fact Check’ say?)

You had me at: “they have absolutely no f*ing clue”.

Once again the praise they receive from the media, establishment and other associated total idiots is for their dramatics, being totally disassociated with reality

Jerry Brown is such an obvious agenda pusher that even punk bands wrote songs(California über alles) about him and his coming eco fascism 40 years ago.

(and i’m still undecided wether the reservoir is so empty this year because of(deliberate) bad water management
or because of so many million more people that live now in california)

    • Richard says:

Jerry Brown’s family had a major interest Pertimina oil out of Indonesia, so he was with the protesters to stop Nukes in CA so his family could supply OIL and Gas for power generation in CA-
Read Michael Shellenberger latest book, he describes in detail Jerry Browns interests

WHEN they say its NOT ABOUT THE $$$$ it usually IS about $$$

The interesting point to be made here, as a counter to all the negativism, is that “Climate” constantly Changes. There are wet, as well as dry periods. And over consumption can be logically regulated if need be. The key point here is to drop the Negativism and look for a Positive approach.
Look for a solution, not an excuse. Common Sense 101.

If the climate science bureau did that, AOC might decide it’s OK to have children

“If Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., were a conservative, all anyone would be talking about is how uninformed she is. She would be facing trick questions from reporters designed to expose her lack of knowledge, and brutal sketches on “Saturday Night Live” mocking her intelligence and fitness for office. Instead, SNL fawns over her, while CBS’s “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert — far from making jokes at her expense — eats ice cream with her and asks how many and “f — s” she gives about her critics.

Boy, it’s good to be a socialist.

It’s not that there is a lack of material. This week, for example, Ocasio-Cortez declared that “the world is going to end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change.” She has said that $21 trillion in “Pentagon accounting errors” could pay for most of her massive $32 trillion Medicare-for-all plan — as if there were $21 trillion in unspent tax dollars sitting around in a Pentagon vault. She opined that “just last year we gave the military a $700 billion dollar budget increase, which they didn’t even ask for” — unaware, apparently, that the entire Pentagon budget is $716 billion. She wrongly claimed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement “is required to fill 34,000 beds with detainees every single night and that number has only been increasing since 2009” — when ICE is required only to have that number of beds available and that number has remained flat. She has declared that “unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs” — which is flat untrue. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are only 6 million to 7 million Americans with two jobs and 148 million with just one.”

Sadly AOC is not some outlier… our education system is churning out countless people as ignorant and ill equipped as she is regards mental acuity…

And when you have masses of idiots, it’s easy to control them via the mainstream propaganda machine….

A few years back I had occasion to witness a grade school teacher of AOC’s age, struggle for 4 hours to attempt to put some decals on her husband’s pickup truck rear window. She could not figure out how to center the decals or make them parallel to the window’s margins. I made some gentle suggestions, but it was clear this university educated schoolteacher could not do simple basic geometry! (but you bet your arse she could prattle off all manner of social justice, racial bias and so on, verbal diarrhea)

We have a fundamental problem in this society alright, but it’s not systemic racism, it’s institutionalized ignorance and “woke supremacism”.

And with the following I rest my case:
