    I live in California, and we usually do not get any significant rain around here until late in December or in January. This year, we had about three inches in October, and it’s raining about an inch today. Governor Noisome would probably say this doesn’t count because it’s “dry rain, lacking in significant water content.”

  2. Former UK Prime Minister Harold Wilson is credited with saying ‘a week is a long time in politics’, perhaps when a politician comes out with the hypebole of ‘hottest ever’, they are refering to this time last week. After all, that is much longer than the attention span of the general public.
