  1. Greg Raven says:

Power solar panels from LEDs must be related to the Spend Yourself Rich (TM) program. Sure, the efficiencies are terrible so you lose energy on both ends, but you can make it up with volume.

    • Ilma says:

I think this scam has also been done in Italy, using off-peak regular power for lights shining on solar panels, which then gets the higher per kWh revenue from subsidies, i.e. a profit. Enterprising, but showing up the renewables industry for what it is – devoid of morals and utterly repugnant.

And for my next amazing invention – The Perpetual Motion machine!

  2. Thomas Fowler says:

Another “cool off the kitchen by opening the refrigerator door” idea. I guess people come up with these ideas because of the failure of the schools to teach important concepts like the laws of thermodynamics, starting with the first: conservation of energy. We are headed for darker days until the adults are put back in charge of things in this country.

    • J.M. Eno says:

Good point, also one cannot create more energy than is in a system already. In short that would making a perpetual motion machine.Even atomic energy from fission cannot create more energy than the system innately has…, E=mc2

All manifestations of marxism suffer from the same 3 problems.

    Total corruption,
    (worthless in) Reality,
and they can only exist as long as they can feed off of someone/something else.

  4. GreyGeek says:

If the owner of the solar collector had any brains he would simply reconnect the grid to his home until the Sun was shining again.
This idea is the same as putting a propeller on the front of your electric car to recharge your battery as you drive. Truly a perpetual motion machine of the 2nd kind.

  5. Timo, Not That One says:

Tomorrow they will have an article of how you can turn your wind turbine with an electric fan, on a calm day.

  6. Graeme No.3 says:

I saw a reference to solar farm operators in The UK now installing diesel generators.
Currently solar generation there is poor, and will be for months and the UK is desperate for electricity ( due to reliance on renewables) so apparently they can collect the subsidies for anything put into the grid.
