Goering Explained War Propaganda

“Of course the people don’t want war. But after all, it’s the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it’s always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it’s a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger.”

“There is one difference,” I pointed out. “In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars.”

  1. Gamecock says:

‘and in the United States only Congress can declare wars’

Except with a compliant media the U.S. openly fights a proxy war in Ukraine without Congress declaration.

    America is broken.

I heard the other day a man was arrested for burning a Ukrainian flag. How bizarre. You can burn an American flag, but not a Ukrainian one. Until Congress declares war on Russia, Ukraine has no standing here, and anybody should be able to say anything they want to about it.

    • arn says:

Burning Nazi Flags is a crime now in the USA
just as visiting Washington on jan. 6th and doing nothing.

      Deal with it.

  2. GWS says:

Such psychology has not changed since the days of tribal warfare in jungles, deserts, and climes the world over. — Any rationalization is justified to get the people riled up to war, experts say.

    • arn says:

Such psychology has not only not changed.
It has since then evolved into other domains like science – especially climate science.
It is not obvious as it is better hidden and limited as it still has to appear as science at first sight.
But the MO is the same.People are neither interested in climate nor in wars,
so a threat has to be manufactured.
After that a permanent mantra is being unleashes onto the population.
An enemy is being presented – the ultimate Evil.
In this case co2,and a saviour is already there and they,of course, have the final and only solution.
This strategy has also being used with Covid.

So only real difference is the point of reference.
If the strategy is used inside out(against other people, countries ) we call it fascism,
if it is used outside in(WEF,IMF, WHO,Mao,woke)against the own population we call it communism.
And Zelensky is using the best of both worlds.

Can I burn a picture of Biden?

  4. Kevin M says:

“in the United States only Congress can declare wars”

    Really?

    • It is news to me that the USA declares war before sending in the military or the CIA.

      • Gamecock says:

The president can initiate military action. He is legally required to go to Congress within a few weeks to get a declaration.

Democrats are not legally bound, hence, we are a year into a war. The Republican Congress may refuse to fund the war. But many are spineless, and the press says we must love the war, so I’m not expecting it.

We must stop worrying and love the bomb.

  5. Gamecock says:

And riddle me this, Batman: what good are M1A tanks and F-16 fighters to the Ukrainians? They don’t have people trained to operate them. I.e., they must include American soldiers.

I’m with Desantis. We should get out of Ukraine. The advantage over Afghanistan is the people left behind won’t be Americans. Though Biden might import a half million “refugees.” Until someone notices they are white.

Lindsey Graham is an embarrassment to South Carolinians. Primarying him fails and Democrats can’t win statewide elections, so he continues on and on.

    • Afghanistan was godsend to the military/industrial complex. Just think, all that equipment will have to be replaced at the taxpayers’ expense. The definition of a government contract is a licence to manufacture scrap. The politicians get a piece of the action, and the electorate? Their sole function is to foot the bill.
