What’s happening in Israel / Palestine now, is the direct result of the British 1917 ‘Balfour Declaration’ & the ‘British Mandate of Palestine’1918; under that mandate, the Palestinian Arabs were not given any national or political rights even though they constituted a 90 % majority of the population.
From the 1920s increasing numbers of poor Jewish immigrants (mainly from Europe ) started driving Palestinian Arabs off their lands, backed up by the League of Nations and the British Army ( my grandfather was there & told us of some of the atrocities the British army committed ).
The result was the Great Arab Revolt (1936–1939)
In 1938/9 The British (under Captain Orde Charles Wingate) mobilised ~ 20,000 Jews into Special Night Squads ( death squads ) conducting raids on Arab villages.
The Revolt resulted in the deaths of 5,032 Arabs, 14,760 were wounded, and 12,622 were detained. In total 10 percent of the adult male population was killed, wounded, imprisoned, or exiled.
In 1948 Britain walked away from the 30yr Palestinian mess it had created … the rest is modern history.
( Community’s have long memory’s – see the Northern Ireland troubles … that started in 1606 ( in similar circumstances to Palestine ) when British Protestants first subjugated Ireland’s native majority Catholic population; and 400+yrs later it’s still not totally resolved )
But lets look on the bright side, the arms trade is doing well !!!
For thousands of years, Palestine was occupied by Philistines. Goliath was a Philistine. These people were exterminated by Arabs during various jihads. What goes around comes around.
