Outdated Books

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.”

Oh, good. For too long, perhaps, I was under the impression that CAGW believers would be bitter clingers to their religious ideas like the one about the global cooling craze never happening. Now, at least they have a new position about mentions of it – e.g. in the 1977 episode of the Barney Miller TV show sitcom – being simply outdated.

I wrote this, and it didn’t post, so I’ll try again. Even if current temperature records are slightly higher than 50,60, 70, 100 year ago records, it, at most, shows mild warming since the last record. But statistically, a mild increase in the new record just shows a repeating cycle that is not statistically different over the time period. In other words, a slightly higher peak most likely is just a continuation of the same weather, climate pattern, particularly considering that the previous peak was 50,60, 70 etc. years ago.

He says the debate is over – which is the opposite of the scientific method – and that recorded past temperatures are outdated. It is very concerning that there are people who believe such anti-science nonsense and state it with such confidence.

“We’ll know our disinformation program is complete when everything the American public believes is false.”

I purposely bought some outdated geology books, because although I’ll miss some of the more recent discoveries, I will also miss the bulk of the more recent propaganda. Another point is that it is highly unlikely that the most recent discoveries are relevant to the fundamentals of the science, but are nuances that might be important to a PhD who is studying specific niches of the science.

Mr. Peery illustrates a flaw common among alarmists. They refuse to learn from their mistakes.

  6. Yes, Newton’s Principia is a matter of fashion is it? What grade of imbecile imagines science is a matter of fashion? It illustrates the social media malaise of concerning itself only with ephemera. In science, theories last for decades or centuries until they are refuted by new observation. They don’t simply go out of fashion. This buffoon has no idea what science is. His comments furnish insight into what passes for ‘climate science’. But then, it always was the last refuge of the incompetent.
