California wants to wipe out an endangered forest of Joshua Trees, in order to protect them from global warming.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

I gather that “It became necessary to destroy the town to save it” is apocryphal.
So no need to learn from its wisdom, eh?
This would be a perfect setup to a Gary Larson cartoon from “The Far Side”.
“Look son, all these trees would have died in 500 years if we hadn’t protected them with these solar panels”
I remember ‘Tree Sitters’ camping in the tops of giant Redwoods & Sequoias to protect them from loggers back in the 70’s. Not only did they sit in the trees to protect them, they scattered tire spikes for the log trucks and vandalized bulldozers and other equipment. Perhaps we should bring some of that back and organize a real protest.
Spray the panels with Gorilla glue and sprinkle coal dust onto them.
;^D..
Yeah, UGLY and land hungry. A world gone insane over a non-problem, simply because most modern urban people have lost the ability to engage in rational thought, and intellectually have fallen back to the superstitions of savages.
Why is it illegal to cut down Joshua trees?
“It creates ecosystem imbalance. “Joshua trees are extremely slow growing,” Asbell explained. “A Joshua tree may only grow 5 or 6 centimeters a year, if that. This means that when a mature tree is cut down, an ancient organism has been killed, and it could be centuries before another takes its place.”
