“New York state legislators have hinted at using unusual tactics to combat the incoming Trump administration, including holding back federal taxes and leaving the United States to join Canada.”
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

It is amazing to me that random Americans, New York legislators in this case, think that Canada wants any of them, let alone a whole State.
The transition would be terrible. For one thing they would have to learn to speak English, for example, dropping all redundant direction from verbs. It is a “tennis match”, not a “matchup”.
Hollywood starlets? Go home. We’re full. The portable bubble you live in won’t fit through the turnstile.
I don’t see why a people that like to park up or moor up shouldn’t matchup. Should I meet up with you to discuss it?
The shit that takes itself out.
Probably the most progressive thing they ever came up with.
“Progressive” as a political adjective is deliciously stupid since it is almost always used wrongly. Rather like the same reaction to those reading the UK’s Independent Newspaper – which is anything but independent.
I wasborn upstate and if the City wants to go to Canada they are welcome to go. There is no way anything above West Point would want to go with tem
“I don’t care if they leave, as long as they pay their taxes.” — Abe Lincoln, 1860
Hey, New York, y’all can’t go til you pay your $1.8 TRILLION of the national debt.
Indeed so, we had something similar in the Scottish part of the UK with the idea of an independent Scotland – until reality arrived finally there with the English asking for their loans back – with interest.
It seems like everyone agrees, They should do want they want. I only suggest that they hold a county by county vote, and the counties that want to go; leave, and those that want to stay are allowed to stay. Once they decide to go, NY is no longer the entity that it was when it was part of the US. We may lose the financial center of the US, but it will build back in Houston. The pluses are: The UN disappears from US soil, Long as we run good government the conservatives rule in the US for decades, and we get to watch the spectacle of Canada bankrupting NYC (because that is all that will leave) to support their progressive agenda.
Sounds like a win-win.
Good riddance, I would say!
Decadent, commie idiot doesn’t know how things work.
Without the 49, New York is starved of food and energy. 20,000,000 people with no visible means of support.
Except for Trudeau, Canada will recognize NY as a charity case, and refuse to accept them. Indeed, likely scenario: NY bleeds Canada to death, and US GETS CANADA!
. . . but refuses to take NY back. Ha ha ha ha.
