Five years ago, the Met Office announced the demise of Scottish skiing.

Alex Hill, the chief government adviser with the Met Office, told The Scotsman there was no future for skiing in Scotland because climate change would see winters become too warm for regular snowfall.

Mr Hill said: “Put it this way: I won’t be investing in the skiing industry.

Skiing is ‘doomed’ … so enjoy it while it lasts – The Scotsman

They have now had 59 straight days of snowfall, and will be skiing into summer.

    Well he got one thing correct. Skiing is doomed now because the lifts are buried and you can’t get to the top of the runs.

    The predictions we used to make have been a major source of embarrassment. Fossil-fuel-funded deniers throw them in our face all the time in order to sow doubts about our plans to control and impoverish everyone. Fortunately, postmodern science no longer requires one to make predictions, which is a great relief because we weren’t doing all that well, anyway.

    Old Mountaineers are saying it is the most snows since the 1940’s. Whilst warmer England got it as water they have it as snow. Glad to see them enjoying the unusual amount fallen rather than being flooded.
