Ninety degree days used to be common in Minnesota, but they rarely happen any more. Right after Hansen’s Congressional global warming testimony in 1988, the heat disappeared.
Despite the heat disappearing, Hansen’s junk science lives on indefinitely.
An added item about Minnesota (Again from Ice Age Now)
Now that is a real OH S…. if it continues into the winter. Looks like Obummer’s chickens could be coming home to roost a lot sooner than planed.
Don’t worry. Here in Ontario we at times are paying other juridictions to take our surplus power. The brain dead coal closure/green energy plan has killed off a lot of industry with high prices. We subsidize the price of power in other jurisdictions in its place. All for the sake of AGW. Al Gore even came up to praise our premier for ending the use of coal. Then we got the worst winter since the 70s.
I am fortunate that I live in Southern MN and have gas along with an in floor water heating system.
The subject you bring up, Gail, will be discussed at our next CFact meeting.
Thanks for the Info.
The Hansen effect!
If Al Gore came to visit you can be sure of exceptionally cold weather. Just ask Australia. {:>D
The Farmer’s Almanac prediction for this winter says that 3/4 of Canada will have below average temperatures, including Ontario. I assisted my daughter over the phone this morning getting her gas fireplace started, because it was only 7C near Ottawa.

Despite the heat disappearing, AND CO2 rising, Hansen’s junk science lives on indefinitely.”
I remember visiting Minneapolis in the early 80s and sitting in the sun at a Mother Fuddruckers having a burger and shake in the afternoon. This was at the end of October and we’d had a week of meetings at Control Data. For someone from Scotland shirtsleeves at the end of October was a novel and memorable experience.
Don’t tell me it’s not like that any more.
It’s not like that any more.
You will have to come to Research Triangle Park in North Carolina instead.
Ben, I live 80 miles from Mpls. We have temp swings of at least 50 deg F.l in the fall.
BTW the town where I used to live called itself the curling capital of southern MN and each year had a Burns celebration complete with bagpipes and the highland fling, a Burns Spiel, coronation of a Miss Bonnie Lass. and more.
Yeah, and I even wore the skirt, competed in tossing the caber and more at summer Highland Games. The summer games are not done anymore.
Before the school combined with others they were called the Scots..
Darryl,
I think that curling out doors may be on the cards in SCotland again fairly soon.

I visited Mpls twice both times the people were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Which went to strengthen my affection for Americans, my thanks for your nations help in WW2. I still keep an eye on the Vikings, Twins and Timberwolves, although I’m no sports fan.
You may find this poem by Robert Burns relevant to the coming winter.

Climate Progress stated yesteday that the Loons in Minnesota are in peril due to global warming. Instead, Minnesota has been cooling for serveral decades. Talk about a disconnect from reality!
I live by a lake and we have Loons, and Canada geese nesting and White Tail deer and more that we did not have when I was young
They have migrated from the North, not the South, it must be cooling — just like they said in the 70’s
The geese are an absolute nuisance. Droppings everywhere, even in the middle of cities.
Market timing. Sell high before it drops. Martha Stewart and Jeff Skilling did.
worst effing summer ever here. If there was a day of sunshine and 80+ and you didn’t get the boat out you missed it by the next day. I saved a ton of money on my water bill and the lawn (and weeds) is growing like some sci-fi episode of alien flora.
We’ve already had 45 degree temperatures in the Twin Cities area. Colder north of here of course.
38 degrees this morning. Sheesh. Anyone know who took my global warming? I really need it back.
More proof of Glow Bull Worming! (Hint: Earliest snowfall in Rapid City, SD since 1888.) Run

The 90-degree days have moved over here to Southern California. This summer is hotter than last.
But then, weather is not climate.
Come February, we’ll see what’s really up.
Left Duluth, MN, by car on Wed. headed west for home. Rain and a brisk 40F in the morning; typical Puget Sound winter morning. The wind was generating some serious white caps on Leech Lake near Whipholt, MN. Snow in the hills along I-90 in Montana from Laurel to Bozeman. This morning in Three Forks, MT, was a balmy 30F. Wish I had packed the ice scraper.
You did Indiana earlier. It would be interesting to determine, what states are warming, ie having more 90 degree days, or by straight temps have a warming trend?
Same thing in Kansas City (whose climate is remarkably similar to Minneapolis despite being 450 miles south). If you look at the record distribution, nearly all of the record lows have occurred more recently than record highs. 37 degrees officially this morning.
Wife woke up this morning and said “It’s cool in this house but I absolutely refuse to turn the heat on in September!” I was thankful being a hot blooded SOB that feeling quite comfortable.
I have used my down sleeping bag over the top of the blankets. My first apartment in upstate New York was built in the early 1800s and had no upstairs heat for the bedroom.
