Greenland’s surface has gained almost 500 billion tons of ice since September 1.
Greenland Ice Sheet Surface Mass Budget: DMI
Arctic sea ice is very close to the 1981-2010 median.
Experts say that the imaginary melting is both unprecedented and man-made.
Greenland better be careful, it is getting awfully top heavy, and could capsize at any moment.

All that extra ice and snow will no doubt cause some chunks to calf off from the mainland, causing a giant hissy fit among alarmists.
“Experts say that the imaginary melting is both unprecedented and man-made.”
And catastrophic! It is the most catastrophic imaginary melting evah!

The US Navy and allies including Canada, UK, and Norway had to evacuate Ice Camp Sargo in a hurry Thursday because cracks in the ice formed around and through the camp.

The US and some of it’s allies are staging a pretty extensive exercise in the Arctic right now. In part I suspect to send a message to Putin. Here is a great photo from a sub breaking through the ice near camp Sargo earlier this month:

ARCTIC CIRCLE (March 15, 2016) The Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Hampton (SSN 757) surfaces at Ice Camp Sargo during Ice Exercise (ICEX) 2016. ICEX 2016 is a five-week exercise designed to research, test, and evaluate operational capabilities in the region. ICEX 2016 allows the U.S. Navy to assess operational readiness in the Arctic, increase experience in the region, advance understanding of the Arctic Environment, and develop partnerships and collaborative efforts. Thank you, ren, for the sea ice graph. If world leaders and their science advisors really believed CO2 controlled Earth’s climate, there would be no reason to hide evidence Earth’s heat source is the one frightened world leaders agreed to hide from the public by uniting nations and national academies on 24 OCT 1945, only two months after it destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki in AUG 1945:

In 2012, Nature would not publish or even send the above comment out for review.
The direction of air flow on 01/04/2016.

Of course Greenland gained ice – it’s winter there. Why don’t you post the graph of arctic sea ice extent not just the map? It tells a very different story. Just more cherry picking of data on your part.
Just more cherry picking of data on your part.

Different how?
There’s a reason why anomalies are used instead of raw data … it makes it more convenient to spread mistruths. Sea ice extent in 1974-1976 was far less than the starting point in 1979 when satellites began recording it. Would you like those estimates to be used? They go all the way back to 1958 if you’re interested …
Yes, I would be curious what the difference is as well. If they are truly different, either they represent different things, or at least one of them is wrong.
If they represent different things, is one better than the other? Why?
If they represent the same thing, which do you think is correct?
Great news on the Arctic Meltdown front! Scientists say, “We do not find support for the perspective that polar bears within or shared with Canada are currently in any sort of climate crisis.” http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ece3.2030/full
CAGW enthusiasts should find this to be great news, huh?
I’m sure it will receive the same “celebration” as the pause.
It will make Bill McKibben weep with joy.
Hey gator, hey Colorado! Yeah, it ought to be funny, but it’s not. You know, if a bunch of doctors told me that I was dying, that my heart was failing and that I only had a short time to live, I would be pretty darn glad to hear that my electrocardiogram had come back normal. It seems like warmists are never happy to hear that something they thought was in danger is actually OK. That recurring angry response to good news is one clear marker that the warmists are somehow pleased with their CAGW. Anything that might take their catastrophe away from them is met with denial and anger.
Hey Jason! It reminds me of Munchausen by proxy.
With Mother Earth as the child in Bill’s care?
Oooohhh… You know, you may have something there, gator.
Hey Jason!
Karel Capek described the same dysfunction in this 1924 essay:
No wonder he was high on the Commies’ and Nazis’ enemies list. There is no doubt in my mind he’d be hated today by our green savior overlords, race hustlers, social justice warriors and similar scum.
Some things never change, regardless of age, culture or continent. The Progressives’ visceral response to Ronald Reagan and his sunny optimism came from the same miserable place.
