Carnival Cruise ship fiasco: a preview of what awaits us all
The fate of the Triumph seemed as eerily prophetic of the 21st century as the Titanic’s did of the 20th. This time we can see what’s coming — not icebergs, but a complete breakdown of systems — providing food, shelter, law and order.
I’m referring, of course, to the effects of climate change and the massive disruptions that promise to shut down entire eco-systems. Except to the willfully blind, the signs of approaching disaster are unmistakable — unprecedented drought, flooding, super-storms, earthquakes and tsunamis.

0.0004 mole fraction CO2 will bring tsunamis to Kentucky.

Are these people really that stupid?
Yes!
I watched “Climate of Doubt” this past weekend, and some rising star in the journalism world (airhead) breathlessly relating her shock at how congressman Sensenbrenner had refused to answer her question. She caught him headed from his office to the halls to congress and asked him, “Is climate change causing global warming?”
You cannot make this stuff up! She was upset he refused to answer, or even acknowldedge her idiotic non-question. He was probably laughing too hard!
Earthquakes and tsunamis caused by global warming ?
Volcanos ?
@ squid2112 Are people that stupid? Yes, they are. That is the point — to make them stupid. Once you get someone to embrace a state of fear, they are indeed that stupid. Stupid people are easier to steal from and to control — hence the never ending series of new fears being pushed by the Powers That Be. Examine any of the Great Dangers being thrust in our collective faces and you will find a phantasm.
Given all this climate disruption, how does the food keep reaching my particular grocery store week after week? It isn’t fair to all the disrupted grocers.
“…Hiroshima and Nagasaki all ripped the Titanic hull of western optimism, hubris and belief in inevitable progress. The 20th century, once so full of promise, turned out to be the bloodiest in the history of the world. And the west was responsible for it all; it was indeed eminently sinkable. Could it even hope to survive?”
This clown has some kind of hard-on for western civilisation. He also has some kind of neo-pagan anti-technology thing going on. So we see the AGW scam is a catch-all for leftist malcontents of every stripe.

There’s just too many of these guys. No wonder the country is in the state that it is.

“Yes, I voted twice,” Richardson told WCPO-TV. “I, after registering thousands of people, certainly wanted my vote to count, so I voted. I voted at the polls.”
Authorities also are investigating if she voted in the names of four other people, too, for a total of six votes in the 2012 presidential election.
“I’ll fight it for Mr. Obama and for Mr. Obama’s right to sit as president of the United States,” Richardson vowed when asked about the voter fraud investigation that is now under way.

Actually, he may be right…but for the wrong reasons. I viewed this cruise ship debacle as a small example of what could happen when we don’t have the kind of reliable power our modern civilization depends on. Combine that with the warnings from Britain this week that the upcoming shutdown of perfectly good coal-fired power plants because the EU says they cannot be allowed to emit any more CO2 will lead to electricity shortages there, and we see the beginnings of what this professor was talking about.
+1
I viewed this cruise ship debacle as a small example of awful design. How can you build a ship and not have a way to get the people off at sea? 4,000 people “trapped.” What if the fire had spread and burnt enough of the ship to make it uninhabitable? All passengers should have been
removed within 2 days.
Or auxillary generators for emergencies.
Lots of people do not understand 0.0004 mole fraction.
They can’t miss that a cubic metre of air at ground level contains about 1.2kg of air and less than 1 GRAM CO2.
Only an idiot could be concerned about less than one gram per cubic metre.
But CO2 is poison, especially to carbon based life forms.
Thank goodness at last my message is getting across. For years, irresponsible capitalist governments have been allowing the Earth to spin out of control. It will all end in disaster, I tell you.
