The big questions buzzing over Boston Bombers Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have a single answer: It emerged in the 102 tense hours between the twin Boston Marathon bombings Monday, April 15 – which left three dead, 180 injured and a police officer killed at MIT – and Dzohkhar’s capture Friday, April 19 in Watertown.
The conclusion reached by DEBKAfile’s counterterrorism and intelligence sources is that the brothers were double agents, hired by US and Saudi intelligence to penetrate the Wahhabi jihadist networks which, helped by Saudi financial institutions, had spread across the restive Russian Caucasian.
Instead, the two former Chechens betrayed their mission and went secretly over to the radical Islamist networks.

Law enforcement was frantically looking for bombs at the start and finish lines – before the bombings occurred.
University of Mobile’s Cross Country Coach, who was near the finish line of the Boston Marathon when a series of explosions went off, said he thought it was odd there were bomb sniffing dogs at the start and finish lines.
“They kept making announcements to the participants do not worry, it’s just a training exercise,” Coach Ali Stevenson told Local 15.
Stevenson said he saw law enforcement spotters on the roofs at the start of the race. He’s been in plenty of marathons in Chicago, D.C., Chicago, London and other major metropolitan areas but has never seen that level of security before.
“Evidently, I don’t believe they were just having a training exercise,” Stevenson said. “I think they must have had some sort of threat or suspicion called in.”
The FBI revealed on Friday that they had interviewed Boston Marathon bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev in 2011, after a foreign government alerted officials that he had possible ties to extremists.
Federal officials vetted Tamerlan Tsarnaev but their probe not produce any ‘derogatory’ information and the matter was put ‘to bed,’ a U.S. law enforcement source said.
The revelation is the first indication that Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his younger brother, Dzhokhar, were known to U.S. security officials prior to Monday’s bombings, U.S. authorities said.
Obama praised Putin for his help, which occurred before the suspects were ID’d as Russians. And the boy’s relatives said that some third party had radicalized them over the past few months.
The uncle of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects told TODAY Saturday that he believes Dzhokar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev were pawns in a deadly scheme.
“I strongly believe they were just puppets and executors of something of bigger scale,” Ruslan Tsarni told Savannah Guthrie.

Plenty of room for conspiracy, but I’d recommend incompetance.
This is DEBKA. I have been looking at their looney “exclusive” reports for years. I have *never* seen a single one that has ever turned out to be true. Not one. Ever. I am rather convinced after all these years that they aren’t sourced. I believe the stories are made up by the person typing them up. Some of them are based around a kernel of truth, just enough to make them plausible. Sometimes they are utterly fantastic.
Huh? 95% of their stories are not controversial at all.
