This summer marks five years since Reggie unveiled his Arctic blowtorch, which was going to make the Arctic ice-free that summer. Perhaps they could organize a prison Arctic melting detail.
As I warned two weeks ago, the climate cult was going to declare May to be the “hottest ever.” Weather Underground says it is hotter than the Dust Bowl!
They must have forgotten their standard “the US is only 2% of the planet” line. May did have the highest average temperature on record in the US (a burning hot 66F or 19C) – but it didn’t rank in the top ten for the number of hot days.
May 1934 had more than twice as many hot days as May 2018. Also note that the previous three Mays were very cool, with May 2015 being the coolest.
The reason for the warm average temperature, is that no Arctic air made it into the US during May, which led to a record low number of cold nights.
To see how ridiculous the comparison with the Dust Bowl is, compare 1934 and 2018 temperatures in the Midwest and Great Plains. May 1934 was fourteen degrees hotter at Eureka, South Dakota.
There is no comparison with the Dust Bowl.
During May 1934, the Dust Bowl regions were close to 110 degrees. This year they struggled to reach 90.
May 1934 was eight degrees hotter at Logan, Iowa.
Because the cold air stayed in the Arctic and didn’t mix with mid-latitude air, May brought a record low melt rate of Arctic sea ice.

On June 23, 1988 NASA’s James Hansen gave his famous testimony to Congress which started the global warming scam in earnest. He warned of increasing heat and drought, both of which have dropped off dramatically in the 30 years since.

Hansen and Senator Tim Wirth cherry-picked a hot day for the testimony, and then sabotaged the air conditioner.

So that the air conditioning wasn’t working inside the room and so when the, when the hearing occurred there was not only bliss, which is television cameras in double figures, but it was really hot. … So Hansen’s giving this testimony, you’ve got these television cameras back there heating up the room, and the air conditioning in the room didn’t appear to work. So it was sort of a perfect collection of events that happened that day, with the wonderful Jim Hansen, who was wiping his brow at the witness table and giving this remarkable testimony.

June 23, 1988 was one of the last really hot days the US has seen.
Hansen has no clue what he is talking about, but he and Senator Wirth did a great job picking a hot day to start their scam. This is what the US looked like on June 23 last year. Hot in the southwest, and 70 and 80 degree temperatures across most of the US.

Arctic sea ice volume is highest in the last eleven years and fifth highest in the last fifteen years.
The thirty day melt rate is the second lowest on record, down 50% from ten years ago. It would take more than one year of continuous summer to melt all the ice at the current rate.

Of course he doesn’t want people policing his fake data. Because it is fake.
Note that after 1998, the observations are likely to be below the simulated values, indicating that the simulation as a whole are predicting too much warming.

People like Gavin Schmidt and Katharine Hayhoe are exactly what President Eisenhower warned us about. Funding for their scams needs to be purged and policy needs to be controlled by policy makers who represent citizens – not snake oil saleswomen pretending to be scientists.
