Year to date temperatures in the US have been right at the 1895-2011 mean of 48.5 degrees. Fifty years were hotter, including 1934 – which was 2.5 degrees warmer. 1925 was 1.5 degrees warmer, and 1911 was more than one degree warmer than 2011.

2004- 50.7, 2005- 49.8, 2006- 50.4, 2007- 49.4, 2008- 49.5, 2009- 44.5, 2010- 49.7, 2011- 48.0.
the archives start in 2004. The July average is a balmy 63 degrees thru July 22nd.
