Current sea level rise is after all not exaggerated, in fact the opposite case is more plausible. Observational data and changing conditions in such places as Greenland suggest if there’s a real problem here it’s underestimation of future sea level rise. The IPCC synthesis reports offer conservative projections of sea level increase based on assumptions about future behavior of ice sheets and glaciers, leading to estimates of sea level roughly following a linear upward trend mimicking that of recent decades. In point of fact, observed sea level rise is already above IPCC projections and strongly hints at acceleration while at the same time it appears the mass balance of continental ice envisioned by the IPCC is overly optimistic
Jehovah’s Witnesses pass out far more accurate information than “evangelical Christian” John Cook.
You can buy ’em books, you can send ’em to school, but you cannot fix stupid.
I tried to tell them that before NCLB, but I did not realize I was talking to the charter members of the club.
I think he left off a minus sign somewhere. Or maybe he has the Envisat graph upsidedown like another scientist accidentally does with dendro graphs from time to time.
“In point of fact, observed sea level rise is already above IPCC projections..”
They must have projected steep deceleration. Since it is only a slight deceleration, it’s above their projections.
Anything you say, Mr. Kook.
Cook’s Catechism of Correct Climate Thought. “Evangelical Christian” my behind. I’ve indulged my OCD by reading climate comment threads daily, since 2006. The average Alarmist on the internet is an angry atheist. The overwhelming majority of them appear to hold religion, and Christianity in particular, in contempt. They will voluntarily display their bigotry, too, by spewing forth their own version of Tourette’s Syndrome: Creationism. I’ve never once read of a skeptic’s belief in creationism but the Alarmists are convinced that we all believe in it. In their minds it makes us sub-human and, of course, that much easier to hate. They bring it up every chance they get.
Good point Mike. I have noticed the same thing. Try bringing up evolution once and watch what happens.
Mike; I’m not sure if you got your “do’s and don’ts” mixed up there. I think the majority of Christians (evangelicals or not) were always sceptical of the catastrophic claim. Remembering that the bible tells us exactly how the world will end, and warming isn’t it.
For the record, I’m a creationist, evangelical born again believer; who loves reading about all of the sciences (and am sceptical of the Mannian science). The world is a fascinating place for us too. Please don’t lump us into some convenient pre-conceived notion of being blind to science or having a wanderlust interest in astronomy.
Christians are people too, and are just as varied in shape and intellect as non-Christians.
Doh!, got my sentences crossed.
We DO have a wanderlust interest in the sciences and astronomy.
“Jehovah’s Witnesses pass out far more accurate information than “evangelical Christian” John Cook.”
Hmmm, that’s interesting. Not trying to put down any JW’s who might be on this list. In my younger early days I did stay with some JW families. No wonder John Cook the Warmist likes JW info as some of its completely rewritten. I,E their Bible is different to the standard Bibles. I suppose Its like all the Rewritting and Readjusting of AGW/CC Data to suit the Alarmist warmist agenda whichever way the windblows to justify their meme!
“Jehovah’s Witnesses pass out far more accurate information than “evangelical Christian” John Cook.”
I had the misfortune of having been a Jehovah’s witness as a teenager. I have also been on Skeptical Science’s blog and have even written written articles for them.
I can say with absolute certainty that the above quotation is absolute bunk. Jehovah’s Witnesses have no redeeming value whatsoever. John Cook, on the other hand is made of far better stuff than most evangelicals, let alone JWs. In fact I was surprised to hear that he was an evangelical.
Sounds like you went from one cult to another.
Sounds like someone who places no value on life itself. Something that many warmists seem to agree with. Give a warmist enough rope, and he will hang himself with his confession.
That’s what Jehovah’s Witnesses say of anyone who converts from one religion to another. Theirs excluded.
By the way, I was once snipped on WUWT for mentioning the Jehovah’s Witnesses in a sarcastic way.

Me, I guess that’s the best you can do in responding to any question.
