Big and Little Cottonwood canyons receive about 600 inches of snow a year. They’re nearly 25% of the way there. They’ll be fine.

Alta is my favorite place to ski due to the great and consistent powder. I’ve skied there since the late seventies even though I live in Tucson,Az.,where by the way our local 9,200 ft. ski area has close to 4 ft. of fresh powder! from the storm of the last two days.

There’s a little chute at the top of Extrovert that is particularly fun. But the Joy of danger is greater at Snowbird. STH, and the liftline area under GAD II is a particularly nasty place to lose your cookies.

  3. W. Jenkins says:

I have lived in Park City Utah since 2006. In that time we have had winter (ski season only) snow totals of 427″,472″, 375″, 435″ and last year 234″. The average year is theoretically 350″. Looks like Utah has been doing quite well against the long term average.
