Dumbing Down Science Education

There is very good reason why children are not taught critical thinking skills.

In order to propagate lies like catastrophic global warming, it is essential that members of  the public have no confidence in their ability to think critically. If the sheep started thinking for themselves, they wouldn’t allow themselves to be led to slaughter.

“The original of Lot 6, “Bicycle Wheel,” was created in 1913 by Marcel Duchamp and was lost and this was produced under the artist’s supervision after a 1916 photograph. It has an estimate of $2,000,000 to $3,000,000.”

My daughter has left the education system.. I really do wonder what happens when students are “caught” during study time reading peer-reviewed literature that doesn’t support CAGW, or pose questions to lecturers about the same.

This is exactly why the democrats insist on retaining the Department of Education. 2+2=anything the state dictates.

The loss of critical science-reasoning skills is bad enough. But the lack of critical thinking in civics/governance/policy probably has a longer term effect.

Kids who grow up thinking that gummint “intentions” are more important than results are mindless cogs in the wheels of bigger and bigger gummint.

Kids who grow up thinking that pronouncements from “official panels” or “government agencies” are de facto true are mindless cogs in the wheels of bigger and bigger gummint.

It may take serious slow-solar colding to smack them in the head, but let’s hope something happens soon. We old/wise folk are too few to win demographic fights.

The dumb/clueless are breeding us into fiscal/governmental disaster.

A ‘right’ is now what the government allows.

for some years now, “critical thinking” has meant being able to reason your way to more government.

    Not just science either:

NPR reports that more than 200 schools across California are coming to the shocking realization that the upfront cash they needed so badly came at quite a price. These ‘Capital Appreciation Bonds’ are unlike normal bonds (requiring regular coupon payments and principal repayment); instead they provide the ‘lent’ money upfront and defer all interest and repayment to some magical faery land time in the future (by which time the interest accrued has grown exponentially as the interest accrues on the rising ‘principal plus previously accrued interest’).

Charles Ramsey, president of the school board, says he needed that $2.5 million upfront, but the district didn’t have it.

In the West Contra Costa Schools’ case, that $2.5 million bond will cost the district a whopping $34 million to repay.

These people are teaching kids economics. And we all surprised that Greens want $100 billion a year to save some islands from not actually drowning in 88 years time?

There are a lot of “low information” voters out there who blindly follow the dumbed-down rhetoric of their favorite political party. Climate change is one of multiple issues where people do no critical thinking and are lemmings.
