More Rotten Appells

A couple months ago David Appell accused me of being a climate criminal. A few weeks later he claimed that he was electronically spying on me (on the same day be made a blog post condemning electronic spying .) Then in last week’s rant, he accused me of being a military contractor ripping off the taxpayer on government time.

Now he has moved on to boasting about his important position in world government and making threats.

Yes — there are dozens of national governments vying for my opinion.

…………………………

So you want the right to pollute, but not to have to pay for the consequences? Right?

Those days are ending, pal.

………………………….

Yes. “Steve” tears down and insults others, but is such a big pussy he is afraid to put his real name beside his claims. That will end.

Perhaps David should use his big bad pHd and demonstrate that the graphs and claims I am publishing are incorrect? That would “end” my claims immediately.

It takes five minutes for me to generate the graphs. How long can it take for him to prove me wrong and show that the NOAA/NASA temperature record is correct?

I sent this highly sought after government expert a link to this article, and asked him to respond.

Maybe, probably, most likely, very likely or some majority of a %, It’s a pHDouche imbalance fer him err something. Did I use enough weasel words fer me out?

  2. Jimmy Haigh says:

Oh dear. Delusions of grandeur I fear…

    • Andy DC says:

Yes, David appears to suffer from delusions of grandeur. That is a common symptoms of severe psychiatric disorders, such as paranoia, shizophrenia and megalomania. We can only hope that he seeks the treatment he desperately needs before he harms himself or others.

    • Marian says:

It appears those who often talk about a World Govt suffer from Delusions of grandeur and are plain and simple control freaks.

What’s more. The UN, Despots, Dictators, Terrorists, Communists, etc all want a World Govt. Problem is they want to be the ones’ solely in charge of it. They obviously haven’t learnt much from history.

    • papiertigre says:

fat boy has delusions of seeing his penis again in this lifetime.

    • The thing to remember is that Appell is representative of many liberal voices now, with the re-election of Obama. That half of the country (including the stupidest college student population yet) has gone over a dangerous new edge, easily and lazily demonizing anything they even think may smell of the political Right. I remind everyone yet again, they are the Insane Left, and they are asking for all out war. When it comes, it won’t be the way they thought, and it won’t come from the direction they think.

    Steve writes,

“Perhaps David should use his big bad pHd and demonstrate that the graphs and claims I am publishing are incorrect? That would “end” my claims immediately.

Yet David rarely tries to do the obvious as someone who holds a different view.I expect people who has a PHD in their backpocket to be able to make a credible effort to articulate a rational counterpoint in the opposition. But no he commonly wants to get off topic about something else with the what is your real name obsession or how much money we get from big oil and other stuff that should be beneath the behavior of a PHD holder. He shows to me that he is a imited thinker with a lot of discredited socialist ideas swirling around in him one who should have learned from recent history of the last 25 years of failing socialism driven governments who have a knack of running out of money to pay for all those unecessary government programs that dampens the economy to the point of collapse.

That is why I get so hard on him knowing that he is wasting all that college science education with trolling styled statements that he often post here.Statements that are too often childish and stupid and that is a shame.

I honestly wish CAGW believers would try to make credible counterpoints with real data and charts they should be able to make like the ones Steve Goddard obviously can and gives us the source to back it up.I really want to read good point, counterpoint discussions but alas that does not happen much at all here.

David I really wish you would put away all your wasted effort to quickly get off topic and babble about a lot of stuff and try addressing the science claims Steve makes in his blog entries instead.

    • Me says:

How about you being hard on him because he is a set of…….. you figure out the rest.

      • sunsettommy says:

I am hard on him because he is not producing a coherent thought process because he is addled with socialist brainwashing propaganda that saps his PHD success.

There have seen many highly intelligent people who stumble because they get lost in some absurd ideological jungle that deprives them from using their full rational capacity to see though it and a sterling example is J.B.S Haldane who thought Marxism was good and True and that he in 1962 writes about Stalin “a very great man who did a very good job.”

        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._B._S._Haldane

He admires a man who killed millions and institued a 1930’s blood purge of military officers and political appointees and was in the process of starting another one when he
died in 1953.To me that is a serious error and one that should not happened with highly educated people who should be able to see through it with their intelligence but alas so
        many fail.

      • Me says:

It’s called Money, Power and Prestige.

      • Me says:

But not necessarly in that order.

    • chris y says:

Several decades ago, a PhD student in the same program as me, left a notebook open to a page which had a truth table drawn out, reminding that student how to use a DMM to determine if a fuse was ok. I have since gathered considerable additional evidence that the correlation between a PhD degree and common sense is spurious at best, and may even be negative.

  4. omnologos says:

OTOH …the likes of Appell being consulted by Governments the world over is a concept perfectly compatible with what a mess the world’s in at the moment.

  5. Richard T. Fowler says:

I took the “dozens” comment to be sarcasm, i.e. he’s angry that they wouldn’t vie for his opinion — but sarcasm is offered because it “should be obvious” that no one is.

  6. leftinbrooklyn says:

Look at it this way…Would you prefer to be admired by the Appell types?

  7. johnmcguire says:

I agree with Jimmy Haigh and Richard T. Fowler . Mr Appell lives in his own little fantasy world in which he is the smartest person . The five people who have posted above me have displayed more intelligence than Mr. Appell in the postings I have read in the past few months . And Mr. Appell can’t carry Steven Goddards water let alone refute the facts Mr. Goddard has posted .

    • johnmcguire says:

I would also like to mention that one thing most sceptics have in common is a sense of humor . I am frequently entertained with hilarious comments on this and other sceptic sites and really enjoy the relief it brings . The warmest crowd doesn’t have much to offer in the humor department as they appear to lack the ability to laugh at honest humor . I think they take themselves too seriously , after all they are saving the world from the likes of us . 🙂

      • Richard T. Fowler says:

Warmest crowd, is right! They got the biggest hotheads.

They’re the perfect straight men for any routine … slow to warm to what we’re saying, but once they do … kaboom! It’s Katy, bar the door! 😀

        RTF

      • Richard T. Fowler says:

Which is actually unfortunate; it would be better if they would quickly recognize our efforts to connect with them in good faith, and then we could laugh together!

        RTF

      • Tony Duncan says:

        Poor Richard,

He unfortunately missed all my posts “humoring” Mr. Goddard, and all his graphs and proofs of all the things that he knows are right. I am still angry at him that he allows these foolish warmists to destroy our great country, but apparently he STILL refuses to publish. Not even the great Scientific Journals like A&E…. Or am I thinking of a TV station?
I especaily liked Mr. Goddards hysterical posts (in both senses of the word) about those idiots that kept talking about a record SIE minimum in 2012…
BTW Stewve, I am happy to wager on the Astros again if you have the stomach for it?

      • Ah, good old Tony, who actually thinks anyone pays the slightest notice to him.

Have a good new year, Tony!!

      • Tony Duncan says:

        Paul,

And Happy New Year to you as well!

  8. jimash1 says:

“after all they are saving the world from the likes of us .”

I have made a point recently of asking them what they are doing to save the world.
Turns out , very few have an answer.
I tell them I am recycling and using CFL’s and driving hybrid cars, and ask what they are doing.
Then they tell me about how I should be punished and how eager they are to dismantle society and replace it with … But not one has responded with a list of things they do regularly.

  9. philjourdan says:

Those who feel a need to boast and brag do so out of a feeling of inadequacy. I suspect that the only people seeking his opinion are diners looking for a good wine with their scrod.

    • johnmcguire says:

Yo philjourdan , that is an insult to waiters and waitresses everwhere . If the likes of Mr. Appell was a waiter at a table I was sitting at I would leave . Who knows what a person of his ilk might do to the food . The man doesn’t inspire good thoughts .

  10. Traitor In Chief says:

I’m still amazed how, for the Klimate Komrades, Imaginative theory trumps empirical evidence. History may be replete with storms of greater severity or frequency, yet they would look at (even) Irene and proclaim just the opposite. This is a cult ideology. For believers, a fantasy world has overtaken the realm of actual physical experience.

Decisions aren’t based on rational pragmatism, but upon ideology. So, for Marxists, science is redefined; to provide a path to realization of the idealized Utopia, So is everything else in life.

Ever notice how many cults are communal? And they tend toward genocide. Because they despise individualism, they require (ostensibly selfless) devotion to the collective. Yet it is “leaders” among them who (often but not always) espouse the narrative while violating every part of it in their own lives. Moonies, Rajneeshpuram, Heaven’s Gate, The People’s Temple, Branch Davidian, etc, etc, etc.

It isn’t possible to have a rational discussion with a cultist. They must be deprogrammed before they can think rationally again. And groupthink keeps them from this. There is a critical mass where too many in society become believers, and the whole lot then follow into oblivion.

  11. squid2112 says:

    Desperately seeking relevance, me thinks…

This is going well beyond pathetic. Appell, don’t even get a life, just go away already.

  12. Scarface says:

    First they ignore you
    Then they laugh at you
    Then they fight you
    Then you win.

You’re in stage 3 now. Keep fighting the good fight. Victory is near!

  13. Appell comes here to troll or maybe score a few hits for his blog. He has never addressed any data analysis claims here short of hand waving them away, and he won’t begin now. He is not bright enough anyway, to do so.

  14. Streetcred says:

An Appell a day keeps the doctorate away !

  15. Rosco says:

I noticed that most of the stupidest claims come from people with PhDs.

My favorite is space is cold.

The first stupidity is to generalise – obviously space isn’t homogenous – there are areas where giant nuclear furnaces emit huge amounts of radiation to areas where there is almost nothing at all.

The second stupidity is to apply physical concepts such as hot or cold to something that has no substance at all !

The third stupidity is to link this absurd proposal – space is cold – to the climate pseudoscience myth that the atmosphere wraps around us like a blanket protecting us from the cold of space !

There are areas of space where there is almost no radiation and anything in these areas will become very cold without a source of energy generation BUT in the Earth’s neck of the woods this is not the case – EVEN climate pseudoscientists tell us there is a “constant” solar radiation of ~1370 W/sq m just above our atmosphere which heats the Moon to over 390 K.

That doesn’t sound too “cold” to me.

  16. Eric Simpson says:

A Pacific Standard article today (Modern Science Writers Leave Science Behind) describing biased left wing scientific journalists is appropriate to this post, and describes the couch potato Appell. An excerpt:

…such politicization of science illustrates everything that is wrong with modern science journalism. In our chapter “The Death of Science Journalism,” we discuss how too many science writers have morphed into cheerleaders who uncritically embrace progressive political causes at the expense of good science. For these writers, science isn’t about uncovering the wonders of the natural world; instead, it’s just another platform from which to bash and demonize political opponents. We believe such journalistic malpractice epitomizes science writing at its absolute worst.

I don’t see why we give that hack Appell this forum to insult us while he gains publicity and stature for himself, not to mention that he uses what we say against us in his hit pieces.

  17. I challenge Apple the other day, as to why, if he is so concerned, he does not go and protest in Peking.

Hell, he could even take Weepy Bill with him.

    Unsurprisingly he had no answer.

  18. rw says:

Yes — there are dozens of national governments vying for my opinion.

Let’s see … The Maldives, Tuvalu, Zimbabwe, Somalia, Bhutan, Yemen, Turkmenistan, Moldavia, North Korea, Gilligan’s Island, the Kingdom of Lilliput, Ecotopia, Atlantis, Narnia, Boulder Colorado …

    And probably many more
