The governor of Connecticut thinks that he can protect his state from hurricanes by magically reducing atmospheric CO2.
Connecticut has been hit by three major hurricanes since 1850, all of which occurred with CO2 below 350 ppm. The last one was hurricane Carol – one of two hurricanes which hit New England during the disastrous hurricane season of 1954.

1954 also was one of the worst years on record for drought in the US.

Steven in the past several weeks (and again this AM) I’ve seen several pieces claiming that the drought is the worst since the thirties but I thought the drought of the 50’s was worse than what may be happening currently. What do you think of these claims …. just the usual alarmist BS? That would be my thought since I was under the impression that most drought areas had been getting near normal winter precipitation.
