Obama says he can violate US law and detain Americans indefinitely for national security reasons.
At the same time, they are declaring global non-warming to be a national security issue.
Former Gov. Tom Ridge joined 37 prominent political figures at that U.S. Capitol Monday calling for policymakers to figure climate change into national security strategy and budget considerations. “The U.S. national security community, including leaders from the military, homeland security, and intelligence, understand that climate change is a national security threat,” Ridge said.

In Obama’s dream world, eco-terrorists who blow up pipelines will be decorated as heroes – and junk science whistleblowers will be locked up for telling the truth. Call up your Congressman – today.
Steve, I connected the dots and found the ghosts of Joseph Stalin behind the images of Fred Hoyle and George Orwell from 1946: http://tinyurl.com/au23plw

Here’s a updated summary of the events that gave us hope and then destroyed those hopes. Tomorrow I will try to figure out how to make the links work on this pdf file: http://tinyurl.com/ac2h396
I always knew Tom Ridge was a leftist leaning stooge.
This is proof positive.
This is what happens when you put stuipid people in charge.
junk science whistleblowers will be locked up for telling the truth
Or drone bombed.
And they are not stupid, Ivan…they are lying criminals promoting agendas that make people rich and give them power.
The jury’s out on that.
Making money is one thing. Self harm is another.
Well then, they should detain the climate, since it is a national security threat. Is there room for it in Guantanamo?
The Chinese must permit themselves a wry smile or two as they sit back and watch the manic determination with which the U.S. is charging ahead to destroy themselves.
What was Napoleon’s famous quote:
“Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.“
So he drives Bush’s car around the block and you cry?
What are you smoking tonight?
You are working overtime to make yourself utterly miserable due to boring little political posturing by a cookie cutter Democrat who most of the country is quite happy with exactly because he is adding nails to the coffin of religious fanaticism and hypocritical moral posturing of the Republican Party whose religious insecurities force them into the most contorted and utterly bizarre bouts of psychopathy and visceral paranoia. Skeptics have converted conservatives to the cause in spite of and likely with help from their sadly anti-science old world hatred of Darwin, neuroscience, and genetics research, and that task is complete and paid for and so the logical next step is to enlighten a new demographic or two, namely college kids and hipsters, especially libertarian geeks who are major culture vulture activists who hate crony capitalist red tape as it threatens Internet freedom, and then also, single professional women who now dominate urban culture in the socially liberal post-Madonna/Brittany Spears era in which shock jock survivalism that equates a Clinton era assault weapons ban with Nazis does not pass the laugh test, whatsoever.
I live in a girl’s dorm building of Barnard College, three blocks from NASA GISS above Tom’s diner, and I dine out over 200 days a year on the “notorious” Upper West Side for two hours at a time, thinking, brainstorming, and often sipping wine, inventing things on paper using my background in genetic engineering, organometallic chemistry, organic synthesis and nanotechnology, and I regularly attend venture capital events and keep in touch with my former lab mate and Grateful Dead enthusiast who was Columbia’s chemistry department chairman for a decade. There was a future Nobel Prize winner and future American Chemical Society president on my Ph.D. committee prior to three DARPA supported years at Harvard with an advisor whose best friend became director of the CIA. The only way I personally have found I can influence smart professionals with facts is to scrub them of politics, period due to urban disgust with the Republican brand.
I could never read Kerouac without quickly falling asleep.
I tried reading Big Sur, and found it to be just horrible, despite being in Big Sur. On the Road may have been different, but I didn’t get to that. Nik… your sentences can be a little longish. Maybe that’s on purpose, a retro style? I agree that the Republican brand is tarnished. But I think you need to go slower. Try to accomplish less, and then you’ll do more. That’s goood advice for myself, maybe. And quit the self-aggrandizing. You don’t need to prove to us that you’re beautiful to strangers. Your words count here, and like at phys org, you do good, except for sometimes… slow it up. Break it down for easier digestion. Consider a fuller context. Blend more. I konw, you are trying to unblend. But take a pragmatic approach more often.
Well, Nik, self-aggradizing maybe isn’t the best word, as you could say you were just being descriptive. And you may be right about the “urban disgust.” If differing sorts of “conservatives,” as perhaps from the heartland & coast (but also it’s not just geographic) can’t get together into a new synthesis to replace the old paradigm, there could be trouble (for Republicans). So, an answer is sought.
Trying to mediate… Nik you could have a point, but everyone is trying to forget about Bush, and no one wants to repeat what he did. Nik, why not like I did pile on Tom Ridge instead? On the other hand, Steven, while the other night you were justified in an extreme reaction to an off the wall comment that didn’t make any sense, this somewhat contrary comment by Nik could of conceivably just gone unheeded. And I know that Nik you have been concerned about posts that may divide us, but also note that maybe you could your spots as far as being contrarian to where you feel it’s important? Must you “always” be contrarian, because that can be divisive also. I hate to see us squabble. Why can’t we just get along?
Proof that Nik is coming through on the bench for the skeptics is his excellent comments at phys org, on this thread at least, sticking up for the home team: http://phys.org/news/2013-02-sea-ice-disturbs-greenhouse-gases.html
Nik is just another spoiled, dogmatic elitist, a worshipper of academics and their credentials, and he is deluded to the point of insanity. His own description of his life, above, paints him as a neurotic hedonist, habitually enjoying being served by others and of course sipping wine–like Nero, fiddling while Rome burns, and cavorting in the flames of his own fevered imagination. I am independent, and voted Democrat through eight straight presidential elections, from 1976 through 2004. But they are now insane, as Nik himself well illustrates. They are now determinedly destroying THEIR brand (forgetting the old saying, “if you set out to kill a man (or a political party), first dig two graves”–and the much older saying, “whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad”).
Harry, I don’t think you’re right on Nik. At best you could maintain that the jury is still out. And sorry for arguing with you about Romney. Anyway, I’m glad you’re going Republican now.
Correction, Harry, I see, you’re independent…
Weren’t Democrats describing gun ownership as a national security threat recently?
Political posturing by crooked politicians who would like an unlimited budget.
Allegedly this video was produced by the manufacturer to promote their drone to DHS…
