No researchers in this field have ever, to our knowledge, “grafted the thermometer record onto” any reconstruction.

Mark Twain said there were 3 kinds of lies. There are actually only 2, good ones and bad ones.
Until now, this one is so bad that it makes all bad lies look good.
Weird. Leftists were all up in arms over ‘lies’ when W was in office, but have gone silent on them since. Weird.
Pretty good at grafting lies onto everything.
Cooling isn’t really cooling and Grafting isn’t grafting. Simples!
RE: “No researchers in this field have ever, to our knowledge, ‘grafted the thermometer record onto’ any reconstruction.”
Well, I tried to give the Mann the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he is using an alternate definition for “graft”
1. Insert (a scion) as a graft.
2. Make money by shady or dishonest means.
Well I’ll be! …either choice still applies.
In this case, Mann should tell Barry and Chorley (and Mark Serreze) that they made a terrible mistake in their well-known textbook on climatology, Atmosphere, Weather and Climate. I am certain that in the last chapter of the book, which is about global warming, there’s a figure of the hockey stick, and the caption says that the last part of the graph is a thermometer record while the earlier part is from proxies. These guys should either keep their story straight or put a dog collar on Mr. Mann.
