103 years later we have psuedo scientific morons saying the generation of electricity by carbon is dooming the planet’s climate. Climate science has come far…….not.

  2. Perry says:

What is the perfect temperature for the planet?

    Where’s the Beef? (Evidence)
The climate experts of 1911 thought radio and the transmission of electricity was in process of causing catastrophic climate change. If they are anything like the climate experts of today, they may have demanded that we not continue the process of bringing and new forms of radio to the people. I could imagine that sensible citizens, before electrification projects across the globe would be tabled, would have asked these experts for evidence or a rational basis for their claim. And I could imagine that the 1911 climate experts would say “look, we can’t have perfect evidence, but society will be destroyed if we are right, so as an insurance policy it would be wise to eliminate electricity and radio transmissions.”
Very much like the climate experts politicos of today. Even without any proof, with there in fact being zero evidence that CO2 affects climate temperatures, as an “insurance policy” they want to take a wrecking ball to industrial civilization, and the 1911 scientists would have done the same thing if they could have stopped electricity in its tracks.

The most astonishing temperature jump took place north of 70°N in the Arctic from 1917 to 1940 (in the USA until ~1933); http://climate-ocean.com/2014/b/z_6.jpg .Arctic temperature increased about 5°C. It was presumably the biggest since the LIA.

  5. Robertv says:

Electricity is the cause of a part of the urban heat effect and maybe it creates some sort of plasma bubble. The Sun is a plasma bubble.

  6. Morgan says:

…government weather bureau sharps have been detailed to look into the matter….

I remember back in the 1950s my grandfather blamed the wet summers (in Yorkshire!) on the atom bomb tests.

    Nice find, Steve!

Forgive me for HAARPing on the “97% consensus” nonsense, but these “climate experts” would presumably have been counted among Peter Doran’s consensus of climate experts who agree that “human activity is a significant contributing factor in changing mean global temperatures.” So they must be right. Right?

  9. Brian H says:

The horrific alternative is that Mankind has Sweet Fanny Adams to do with climate or weather.
