Sixty years ago*, the US detonated our largest nuclear weapon at Bikini Island. Corals flourish there now.

* Gavin says that people sixty years ago weren’t smart enough to read thermometers correctly.
but do they glow in the dark??
LOL!
The acidic oceans will dissolve those corals in a few more years … sarc.
They sure will. 😉

Imagine what Central Park could look like!
During ice ages the level of CO2 in the oceans was twice what it is now and the earth was really cold, yet corals were fine.
This photo shows a french nuclear explosion on Mururoa atoll, probably the one called “Licorne”, in 1970.
Remember, we created Godzilla !
It wasn’t until 2014 that we learned from John Kerry that CO2 was far worse WMD than any nuclear Armageddon faced by corals 60 years ago. 😉
Brilliant observation, Steve. This is the kind of info that hits ordinary people between the eyes.
