We lay people simply aren’t qualified to understand or assess all this big science, done by intellectual giants.

Ironically, that forecast may turn out to be accurate though hopefully a mini-Ice Age rather than a real one!

Can we predict the duration of an interglacial?,[page10/13] say
“… If the start of an interglacial and its associated insolation maximum/precession minimum occurs near the peak in obliquity (Fig. 6), then an interglacial of approximately half a precession cycle [short length] would be expected (MIS 5e, 9e, 15a, 19c; Fig. 12b) … [in] the current interglacial … The phasing of precession and obliquity (precession minimum/insolation maximum at 11 kyr BP; obliquity maximum at 10 kyr BP) would point to a short duration …”

“… Glacial inception takes place approximately 10 kyr after peak interglacial conditions, representing a characteristic timescale of interglacial decline …”
The peak of the interglacials usually happen at maximum obliquity, therefore what they’re implying is that the “glacial inception” of the Holocene is occurring now or is about to occur soon.
In fact they don’t say that in the paper, but that’s what one concludes UNLESS (the usual nodding to AGW) *CO2 has an important effect on climate*, which, I believe, it doesn’t.

Even if the full Ice Age comes, we’d still have a few *centuries* before it’s full manifestation.
In this century we should be focused on the possibility of another LIA.

Those 2 predictions were made 15yrs apart and are completely opposite.
