Time To Move On

Skeptics need to stop playing along that this is about science. It never was, and certainly isn’t now. There isn’t one shred of evidence or even a pretense of science remaining in the global warming scam.

DON’T DO THAT! I thought you were quitting!

    • I’m saying that it is time to quit pretending this is about science, and focus on the real issues driving this scam. Feeding the beast is a terrible idea.

      • Dmh says:

That’s why I stop going to WUWT.
It’s not a scientific problem anymore and it’s not possible to expect that peer reviewed reports will ever validate the truth.
It’d be like believing that a cancer can heal spontaneously: won’t happen.

  2. Bob Knows says:

Global Warming is about Wealth Transfer, its not about science, and its not even about warming. We do no good pointing out their failed anti-science lies because it has never been about science.

    • omanuel says:

      I agree, Bob.

      AGW was never about science.

    • glenncz says:

It is not about Wealth Transfer. It is about STEALING! Taking money from poor people who can hardly afford to live now, raising all their energy prices, and the rich people who stole their money get richer. There will be absolutely no Wealth Transfer to poor people or poor countries, except for the dictators of those countries.

      • Gail Combs says:

Actually it is about killing off the ‘Useless Eaters” and turning the entire world into a feudal state that serves the whims of the elite.

Note the date. The UN First Earth Summit with a Club of Rome member, Maurice Strong at the head was held four years later.

So, what exactly is the Club of Rome and who are its members? Founded in 1968 at David Rockefeller’s estate in Bellagio, Italy, the CoR describes itself as “a group of world citizens, sharing a common concern for the future of humanity.” It consists of current and former Heads of State, UN beaureacrats, high-level politicians and government officials, diplomats, scientists, economists, and business leaders from around the globe….

…it isn’t what the CoR is that I find so astonishing; it is WHO the CoR is! This isn’t some quirky little group of green activists or obscure politicians. They are the most senior officials in the United Nations, current and ex-world leaders, and the founders of some of the most influential environmental organisations. When you read their reports in the context of who they are – its gives an entirely new, and frightening, context to their extreme claims….

The concept of ‘environmental sustainability’ was first brought to widespread public attention in 1972 by the Club of Rome in their book entitled The Limits to Growth.

“The result of stopping population growth in 1975 and industrial capital growth in 1985 with no other changes is that population and capital reach constant values at a relatively high level of food, industrial output and services per person. Eventually, however, resource shortages reduce industrial output and the temporarily stable state degenerates.”

“Man possesses, for a small moment in his history, the most powerful combination of knowledge, tools, and resources the world has ever known. He has all that is physically necessary to create a totally new form of human society – one that would be built to last for generations. The two missing ingredients are a realistic, long-term goal that can guide mankind to the equilibrium society and the Human Will to achieve that goal.”

“Without such a goal and a commitment to it, short-term concerns will generate the exponential growth that drives the world system toward the limits of the earth and ultimate collapse. With that goal and that commitment, mankind would be ready now to begin a controlled, orderly transition from growth to global equilibrium.”

So as you can see the even back in 1972 the Club considered modern industrial society to be completely unsustainable. They state that even if population was frozen at 1975 levels, and industrial activity at 1985 levels, then the earth’s ecosystems would still ultimately collapse. The CoR has not changed these views in the slightest, in fact, in the last three decades their warnings have become increasingly more urgent and alarmist.….

Who the heck we will ever stop these people from enslaving the entire world I do not know.

It is not about Wealth Transfer. It is about STEALING!

How can you say it’s not about one but is about the other, when the two things mean exactly the same thing? Like when a thief transfers someone else’s property to himself.

Of course it’s wealth transfer. Duh.

        • Gail Combs says:

” wealth transfer” is the politically correct term and you are supposed to think of it as involuntary donations to the poor.

          Typical progressive double talk.

    Global Geo-Engineering?

    http://www.geoengineeringwatch.org

Sounds far-fetched, but global geo-engineering fits my very limited understanding of history:

    1. Stalin’s troops captured Japan’s atomic bomb plant at Konan, Korea on 24 Aug 1945.

    2. FEAR of nuclear annihilation led world leaders to form the UN on 24 Oct 1945.

    3. Knowing that global control depends on control of space, USSR launched Sputnik on Oct 4, 1957.

    4. John Kennedy announced the Apollo program on May 25, 1961.

    5. John Kennedy was assassinated on Nov 22, 1963.

    6. Robert Kennedy was assassinated on June 6, 1968.

    7. Henry Kissinger made secret trip to China and agreed to end the Apollo program in 1971.

    8. Richard Nixon announced end of the Apollo program on Jan 5, 1972.

    Claudelafleur.qc.ca/Nomoredreams.html

    • omanuel says:

      9. At the Third Lunar Science Conf. in March 1972, we were told Nixon was ending the Apollo program. That US President Nixon and USSR’s leader Brezhnev planned to orbit the Earth together and sign an international peace treaty.

That rumor never happened, but it was told us as the reason for ending the Apollo program.

      • Robertv says:

You think we were on the Moon ?

        • omanuel says:

Yes. I analyzed lunar samples in my lab.

Analysis of lunar soils showed severe mass fractionation of isotopes and elements in the Sun.

The fractionation varies with time, but on average atoms at the top of the photosphere and in the solar wind have undergone nine stages of mass fractionation, each enriching the lighter atom of mass (L) relative to the heavier atom of mass (H) by the square root of H/L [See Graham’s Law of Diffusion].

This is an empirical fact world leaders did not want the public to know.

        • Morgan says:

omanuel, have you ever been diagnosed?

        • omanuel says:

Yes, “incurable idealist that still insists Climategate will confirm “Truth is victorious, never untruth!”

  4. geran says:

So, now we are moving from “It’s the Sun, Stupid” to “It’s the Stupidity, Stupid”.

    Works for me.

  5. Chip Bennett says:

I wasn’t aware any of us ever operated under the fiction that Climate Change Alarmism had anything to do with science?

    • Jason Calley says:

I admit it! I initially thought it was about the science. I had a hard time convincing myself that scientists — SCIENTISTS!! — would lie about something on that scale and of that magnitude. Nonetheless, the more I looked at things, the more I saw that the so-called “scientists” were not real scientists, they were liars. They refused to present real data, actual programming, clear reasoning. Eventually, by looking at the data, I was driven to the only rational conclusion; CAGW theory is NOT science. It is propaganda. It is a weapon created by liars and thieves — and we are the targets.

  6. -=NikFromNYC=- says:

Your mostly reasonable blog (except for all the ruinous NAZI pictures) is now dominated by the lunatic fringe of skepticism, as you moderate us voices of moderation out and allow free reign to lunatics that scare away any and all serious working scientists from showing up here. Ninety percent of your effectiveness is squandered and it rubs off on all skeptics, since this blog is a magnet for the stereotyping of all of us.

    • rw says:

      Agreed.

      1. Being about science and being about things other than science are not mutually exclusive. And with large-scale phenomena like AGW there is always a confluence of factors.

      2. There is a “psychology of explanation” that is painfully apparent on some of these comment threads. (In fact, “meglomania” or whatever you want to call it, is certainly not restricted to warmists.)

      3. One thing people ought to read is “Them” by Jon Ronson. It’s related to point #2, among other things.

    • What a complete load of BS. I moderate out attacks. Idea censorship is for Nazis.

If you censor ideas, you are no better than the other scumbags.

    • Gail Combs says:

Arguing about the science is a Red Herring to keep people busy looking the other way. It is about Power, Control and Wealth. CAGW and Environmentalism has always been nothing but the candy coating around the rotting fish.

It is time to unwrap the fish and call it what it is a rotten stinking fish.

        • Tom Gordon says:

Respectfully, Gail, I was an ‘environmentalist’ from my earliest memories, as were most of my ancestors (as farmers, hunters & fishermen we damn well wanted to protect the environment!). I worked with my father in the mid 1960s to gain passage of the NH legislation to clean our waters of sewage & industrial pollution some years before the Federal legislation; IIRC, ours was the first such law in the country. Unquestionably ‘the cause’ has been hi-jacked and exploited by the arrogant elitists of the left over the past fifty years, then taken well past the edge of madness. However, the underlying purpose – ensuring our habitat will remain healthy – remains the same, no matter how it has been perverted by the greedy manipulating the gullible. All these government agencies and tyrannical bureaucrats must be brought to heel, with the size and power of government reduced by at least half.

        • omanuel says:

          Tom,

I suspect that many of us skeptics are still environmentalists – have genuine concern for the environment.

But some of us now feel betrayed by environmentalist groups like Greenpeace, World Wide Fund for Nature, Sierra Club, etc.

          These organixations betrayed

        • Gail Combs says:

Tom Gordon, You, like I and most others are Conservationists not ‘environuts’

The word ‘environmentalist’ has been hijack so the good reputation that has been built up can be used by evil people. The word ‘Sustainability’ (as in good farm husbandry) has also been hijack.

This is the rotting fish that needs unwrapping and exposure to the disinfecting qualities of the light of day.

      • Send Al to the Pole says:

I’m going to add in… and I’m sure all the long timers here know: That together with the 3 things you just listed Gail, there is an embedded cult ideology of scarcity and abhorrence of consumption. Not of their consumption – but of OURS. Among many followers it manifests as self mutilation, or flagellation. But among the leaders, they seem to want to extinguish the majority of humanity. But they don’t show the desire to curb their own consumption; just the contrary. They’re absolutely gluttonous.

The epiphany for me was several years ago. It all came together when I realized that Progressive ideology is a cult. The environmental element is a faction of the overall cult.

The horror is that they have great power.

I say cult because it’s an eschatological religion with a trend to genocide. Note that many of the cults we’ve seen in recent years (Jonestown, Heaven’s Gate and others) were communal, aka communitarianist.

So, Steve, you’re dead on. The fight now needs to focus on ridicule of the ridiculous. Blunt, laugh in your face, find you a shrink ridicule. It’s what their feeble minds can understand.

        • Send Al to the Pole says:

The conflict is not with how the “climate” is treated. The conflict is between the rational and the utterly psychotic. We need to move the argument to the actual point of conflict: Either man will go forward with ingenuity, committed self determination, and hope for the future, or allow a psychotic cult of scarcity to capture society and institute hell on earth.

        • methylamine says:

Excellent! I came to a similar conclusion in a marathon conversation with a good friend some months ago. He said it so succinctly–
“The central fallacy at play today is the false idea of the external perfectability of Man; the idea that we are a tabula rasa, endlessly malleable, trainable, automatons.”

It is a religious precept, regardless of the actual religious confessions of its practitioners.

The reality? Human nature is human nature; flawed, but capable of fantastic good and sometimes fantastic bad. The fantastic bad is always instigated and spread by that 2% among us who are a predatory, parasitic sub-species….the psychopaths.

Only individual freedom, liberty, and mutual respect can foster the best in us while providing the tools and more importantly mentality for defending against and overcoming the parasitic control-freaks and killers.

        • omanuel says:

“The” ILLUSION “is that they have great power.”

The REALITY is that they have great ILLUSIONS.

        • Gail Combs says:

As I said here previously it is a war on the middle class. They want obedient serfs not challenges to their rule. Unfortunately the rank and file progressives either think they are going to be in the upper ranks after the take over or are completely clueless.

      • omanuel says:

Yes, Gail, it is about “Control” of planet Earth and all of its resources.

The good news is that a Higher Power still has total control.

The bad news is that egomaniacs do not know that.

  7. Gamecock says:

I’m not a climate scientist; I doubt climate scientists are, either.

  8. Mike D says:

I agree with having full knowledge that it was never about science. However, I think the facts and the science have to be repeated again and again until the actually get out into general awareness. Having used pseudo science to fool the general populace, now that the facts so clearly prove they were wrong, those facts have to become common knowledge.

The reason I say this is I continually see politicians or others make erroneous statements right out of the alarmist talking points, then use some non-science reasons to doubt the alarmists. Along the lines of “Well no one is arguing that the climate is not more extreme that it used to be, but even the UN acknowledges there’s been no warming.” Or “No one is saying CO2 isn’t a problem, but we can’t do anything about when China’s emissions are going through the roof.”

There just isn’t enough factual knowledge floating around for talking heads to make a strong case. The people on TV sure aren’t the smartest people out there, so they need simple facts that even they can remember and repeat.

  9. Ragtag Media says:

Climate Change: The Debate Is About To Change Radically

The latest report from the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is due out next week. If the leaked draft is reflected in the published report, it will constitute the formal moving on of the debate from the past, futile focus upon “mitigation” to a new debate about resilience and adaptation.

  10. Eliza says:

I totally agree and Skeptic climate scientists etc like Spencer or Christy or even Monckton should stop saying “yes it is warming but”…. ect or yes humans can affect climate ect..because IT IS NOT WARMING their own instruments show this. They are feeding into the warmist troll frenzy. It is NOT warming and hasn’t for 17 years now. The rest of the data has been fiddled with to no end to get to that “warming” level of 17 years ago. The whole thing is a 100% verifiable scam LOL If the APS changes course and Steyn gets Mann in the next court session the whole thing will truly fade away.

  11. Gail Combs says:

Completely off topic… well sort of. The Mayor of Charlotte NC just got busted by the FBI for taking bribes.
    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/03/26/mayor-charlotte-arrested-on-public-corruption-charges/

I wonder if Obummer will pardon him? Charlotte was the site of the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

…If convicted on all the charges, he faces 20 years in prison and more than $1 million in fines.

Cannon was elected mayor in November, replacing Anthony Foxx. Foxx was named Transportation Secretary by President Obama.

Cannon was first elected to City Council in 1993. He is also longtime radio show host who discusses local and national politics. In November, he defeated Republican challenger Edwin Peacock….

  12. Bruce of Newcastle says:

Sadly I disagree that it is time to move on.

This whole thing is about the court of public opinion. The climateers are using the same tactics that were used by the CCCP and similar totalitarian regimes. Victory was obtained by showing the propaganda was all lies and the people had to stop believing the liars.

Unfortunately people are predisposed towards politicians and activists who say they are on their side and who promise them stuff. That is why progressives offer the moon and the stars and free phones to voters even though they cannot possibly deliver.

What killed the Soviet Union and communism was demonstrating over and over and over that it just did not work and led to misery. Reagan provided the final push, but that worked only after 35 arduous years of softening up.

The only thing which can work in this case is to demonstrate over and over and over that the climateers are liars and there is no problem. I know that is what you are already doing Steve, but sorry mate the marathon is not over and will not be for another decade.

As an example, you know how its reported my country “Australia has overturned their carbon tax”?

We haven’t. The progressives blocked the repeal in the upper house. The Senate composition changes in July and it may vote to repeal the carbon tax then. And there is a crucial byelection in two weeks time which will affect the balance of votes. The thing is not dead, there is no stake through its heart and even if it is repealed after July it could still rise from the grave in as little as two years if the current government loses office at the next election.

The only way to stop crap like this is to relentlessly and endlessly show the truth.

    • omanuel says:

Perhaps Stephen thinks it is time-to-move-on to the real problem:

Tyrannical control of the public in manner George Orwell predicted in 1946 when he started writing “Nineteen Eighty-Four.”

      http://www.online-literature.com/orwell/1984/

Read the synopsis and see if you agree that is the real problem !

      • Bruce of Newcastle says:

Oh, I agree Oliver. But you cannot fight the real problem directly. You have to defeat their every front and contain them until the people revolt from within. Same as in the CCCP.

The Soviet system failed because it was based on lies. CAGW will fail because it is based on lies. But money and power are very attractive, and lies are cheap. It will take a lot more before the charlatans are winkled out of their positions of privilege.

        • omanuel says:

Ultimately we are powerless, but . . .

Reality will reveal itself, perhaps in the form of a massive coronal ejection or electromagnetic pulse from the Sun’s pulsar core, or another Maunder-like minimum of solar activity.

A lot of folks will unnecessarily die if that happens before government policies are changed to prepare for reality, instead of deceptive models of reality.

    • Gail Combs says:

Bruce, it also helps to “follow the Money”

How many people are aware that the power behind the IPCC AND WWF AND Shell oil are all the same 1%ers? The Royals and the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers.

People may not be able to understand ‘The Science’ but they can follow the money trail.

      • D. Self says:

    1. CO2 is still rising.
    2. Global Temperatures are not rising (for 15 to 20 years)

From the facts above why are any governments following the UN-IPCC recommendations when the real world measurements show that it is built on a false premise?
Why is anyone voting for governments that espouse policies based on UN-IPCC false premise?
Big Government politicians love the UN-IPCC because it gives them money and power and the illusion of action, but understand people that these same politicians will impoverish you.
Your energy bills are going to rise catastrophically because too many people believe in this fantasy, and they vote. As energy rises so will everything reliant on it – in a technologically advanced western world that is just about everything you need.

    • omanuel says:

I agree. The problem is NOT about Earth’s changing climate.

      1. One problem is the tyrannical one-world government that has ruled by deception since 1945.

      2. Another problem is scientists that will manipulate or hide observations and experimental data for funds.

      3. A third problem is skeptics, less interested in promoting truth, than in promoting themselves.

      4. Finally many talented scientists who know AGW is a scam are afraid to speak out.

Conclusion: We are all flawed. Selfishness is our problem. The survival of humanity depends on our individual abilities to escape the ego cage and work together for the benefit of mankind.

      • methylamine says:

This is why, after a brief and foolish dalliance with atheism, I’ve come to the conclusion that a Supreme Being is both real and necessary.
Real–Too many scientific and logical arguments to go into here, but for me the preponderance of evidence points to a designed universe.
Necessary–Psychopaths in their narcissism will always attempt to elevate themselves to godhead; recognition of a Supreme Being keeps us humble enough not to slaughter each other*.

*–that is, until said psychopaths hijack organized religion to turn it to their purposes…a whole ‘nother discussion.

        • Gail Combs says:

That is why I am an agnostic – I don’t know but I sure hope there is a big guy up there that cares. I also can not stand the hypocrisy in much of organized religion.

The psychopaths always rise to the top like T… in a septic system. It is because they have no problem lying cheating and stabbing you in the back while they smile to your face. They also have no problem shredding someones reputation as needed.

I wonder what is happening to the women who shredded Herman Cain, I bet they have nice little bank accounts in Switzerland…. or they end up dead.

      • David, UK says:

@ Omanuel: I agree with a lot of your points; and then you go and ruin it with such crap as “Selfishness is our problem. The survival of humanity depends on our individual abilities to escape the ego cage and work together for the benefit of mankind.” This is exactly the kind of new age / Marxist bullshit that riles me.

The survival of humanity, as always, depends on freedom and resourcefulness. When people are free they do work together; but each for the benefit of themselves and their own. The effect of this is naturally felt by society as a whole, without any need to “work together for the benefit of mankind.” Read Adam Smith and the Invisible Hand. Or alternatively compare Marxist societies with so-called “selfish” Capitalist societies. Then consider which one is better off (and which one has more humanity).

        • Gail Combs says:

Also read The Great Thanksgiving Hoax

The original form of the Plymouth colony was a commune.

This had required that “all profits & benefits that are got by trade, working, fishing, or any other means” were to be placed in the common stock of the colony, and that, “all such persons as are of this colony, are to have their meat, drink, apparel, and all provisions out of the common stock.”….

….the governor of the colony, William Bradford, reported that the colonists went hungry for years, because they refused to work in the fields. They preferred instead to steal food. He says the colony was riddled with “corruption,” and with “confusion and discontent.” The crops were small because “much was stolen both by night and day, before it became scarce eatable.”… Bradford writes that “young men that are most able and fit for labor and service” complained about being forced to “spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children.” Also, “the strong, or man of parts, had no more in division of victuals and clothes, than he that was weak.” So the young and strong refused to work and the total amount of food produced was never adequate….

In other words communism sounds nice but in reality it does not work because people are ‘lazy’ Laziness is a survival trait need for conserving energy and it is also the mother of invention when you think about it.

So what happened to the Plymouth colony?

….To rectify this situation, in 1623 Bradford abolished socialism. He gave each household a parcel of land and told them they could keep what they produced, or trade it away as they saw fit. In other words, he replaced socialism with a free market, and that was the end of famines.

Many early groups of colonists set up socialist states, all with the same terrible results. At Jamestown, established in 1607, out of every shipload of settlers that arrived, less than half would survive their first twelve months in America. Most of the work was being done by only one-fifth of the men, the other four-fifths choosing to be parasites. In the winter of 1609-10, called “The Starving Time,” the population fell from five-hundred to sixty.

Then the Jamestown colony was converted to a free market, and the results were every bit as dramatic as those at Plymouth. In 1614, Colony Secretary Ralph Hamor wrote that after the switch there was “plenty of food, which every man by his own industry may easily and doth procure.” He said that when the socialist system had prevailed, “we reaped not so much corn from the labors of thirty men as three men have done for themselves now.”

This is why the true story of Thanksgiving is never taught in schools any more. Socialism/Communism comes off looking like the useless economic system it is.

Yes we should take care of those who can not fend for themselves but it needs to be done at as local a level as possible so the parasites can be booted off the public teat. Personally I think it should be left up to the churches as it was for ages or perhaps “county farms” where people can live and help grow their own food, do crafts and what not to help pay their own way. That is much better for their mental health too.

          I may be wrong, but . . .

I believe selfishness is the problem that will lead to the extinction of “homo sapiens” if not brought under control.

We inhabitants of planet Earth must learn how to work together, or we will perish.

        • Gail Combs says:

It is not ‘selfishness’ that is the problem, it is the lack of moral code and more importantly the intentional** break-up of our communities that taught and enforced that moral code. I have spent a lot of time tracing the cause of the decline of the USA and was horrified to find it has been entirely intentional. With decent leadership we would not be looking at the mess we have now.

In a village everyone knows everyone else and until the 1960s, no one had a problem with another adult disciplining your kid. It was perfectly acceptable for Mrs. Smith to yell at you and if she was a good friend of your parents to administer a swat on the rear if needed. Now we are all strangers and with both parents working the rearing of the kids is left to the state.

** The break-up of our communities and the disruption of our trial rearing practices was very definitely INTENTIONAL!

SEE: The Hand that Rocked the Cradle: A Critical Analysis of Rockefeller Philanthropic Funding, 1920-1960 This is why our kids today are spoiled rotten little monsters.

          I somewhat agree, Gail.

But I see signs of selfishness in capitalists and communists, in Democrats and Republicans, in Conservatives and Liberals.

The situation is dire, worldwide, and might best be resolved by each side recognizing the flaws in themselves, rather than focusing their energies and time on the flaws in their opponents.

Perhaps something like a spiritual awakening to reality is needed?

        • Gail Combs says:

Actually I do not think the emotion is selfishness, I think it is FEAR.

Part of the fear was the fear the middle class would displace the elite and remove their power. A second fear was of mass starvation and civil unrest if the population of ‘undesirables’ was not controlled.

Remember this current mess traces all the way back to the 1800s or further. So it is not individual ‘selfishness’ but a ‘Cause’ I think they genuinely think they are working to ‘Save’ Humanity even if their actual thinking is warped.

From George Bernard Shaw co-founder of the Fabian Society:

…The moment we face it frankly we are driven to the conclusion that the community has a right to put a price on the right to live in it … If people are fit to live, let them live under decent human conditions. If they are not fit to live, kill them in a decent human way. …

This is the thinking of a farmer who culls a herd to improve his stock but treats the remaining animals well.

          And Shaw was not unique.

…Another Fabian eugenicist, the writer H.G. Wells, vented his frustration and indignation in a direct address to the working class. ‘We cannot go on giving you health, freedom, enlargement, limitless wealth, if all our gifts to you are to be swamped by an indiscriminate torrent of progeny,’ he complained, ‘…and we cannot make the social life and the world-peace we are determined to make, with the ill-bred, ill-trained swarms of inferior citizens that you inflict upon us.’ It was as if — as in the Brechtian joke — the Fabian left had lost confidence in the people and had determined to dissolve the people and appoint a new one….
          (wwwDOT)spectator.co.uk/features/5571423/how-eugenics-poisoned-the-welfare-state/

According to Dennis Sewell, whose book The Political Gene charts the impact of Darwinian ideas on politics, the eugenics movement’s definition of “unfit” was not limited to the physically or mentally impaired. It held, he writes, “that most of the behavioural traits that led to poverty were inherited. In short, that the poor were genetically inferior to the educated middle class.” It was not poverty that had to be reduced or even eliminated: it was the poor.

Hence the enthusiasm of John Maynard Keynes, director of the Eugenics Society from 1937 to 1944, for contraception, essential because the working class was too “drunken and ignorant” to keep its numbers down.

    Gail,

    RE: Who controls planet Earth?

Are you are old enough to remember that

USSR controlled the space around planet Earth after launching Sputnik in Oct 1957, and

Alert enough to realize that the USA returned control of space to the USSR in Jan 1972 when Kissinger and Nixon agreed to end the Apollo program in exchange for an end to the Cold War?

Can the USA fly to the International Space Station now? Or does the USA now depend on Russian rockets to get there?

Bold, rigorously honest answers to these questions show who controls planet Earth today.
